Actually, I think the definition of “mid tier” and the watch pricing structure have changed such that the “new” Oris and Longines are still mid tier while many micro brands are lower tier.

I love the look of my Tsuyosa but I don’t wear it often because I find the recessed crown a pain to deal with. I hope Citizen corrects that if and when they update the line.

I always enjoyed AET. The abrupt way it ended was depressing and disappointing and leads me to believe that there was a major internal disagreement (that may or may not ever be leaked) that was the last straw. It also highlights several issues with YouTube watch content including the “conflict” between creators who love horology and creators looking to make money using watches and industry drama as the vehicle.

commented on Rolex Market Availability Will Hurt Breitling, IWC, Grand Seiko, And Sister Brand Tudor ·

The assumption here is that the only reason anyone purchases these “other” brands is that they couldn’t buy a Rolex or at least a Rolex at MSRP. That may be true in some cases but could be offset by those who now enter shops with actual Rolexes in the window and begin to investigate the other brands.

Movement regulation is apparently not an Oris strength. I purchased a Cal 110 10-day power reserve model from an AD and it was -50 secs per day out of the box. I was told that it would take at least 3 months to repair under warranty. I vehemently balked and returned it for a full refund. Not a good sign as Oris tries to move upscale.

I love his creations so much that I have an SB07 sports watch on order. Hoping to receive it by the end of the year.

The Farers are really eye-catching and offer a distinctive style compared to most microbrands that look like old dive watch designs. Definitely on my list.
