nope. you're not alone. I have all boxes and associated paperwork including the receipts from purchase. I occasionally like to scare myself with the amount spent!!!
I've often thought that its a shame to hide away some of the nice display boxes that many watches come in. At one point I had thought of displaying my collection in a similar manner, with each watch displayed in its presentation box, but decided against it, so all of mine are just packed away in storage.
Sometimes I do display the watches in the open boxes, sometimes its just open boxes, and sometimes the boxes are closed. I change it up for no rhyme or reason. But I can tell you that however it’s displayed, I always get a big smile walking buy it. Give it a try. They can always go back to storage.

One of the reasons that I decided against it was that I didn't have a suitable display case. Perhaps if I could find one, I might try.
There is some logic in this, as they are more valuable than the watches, which ultimately will have very little value in almost all cases.
Of course if a corner is damaged or there's a spot on the box or some other flaw, it's like a baseball card in that the value is now multitudes less. Non-pristine ephemera is often called by the shorter name of junk. I also suspect that the preponderance of stored boxes leads to the retiree's garage-kept low-mileage Corvette issue. There is an oversupply such that the resale value is not at all what the original owner expects.
Yea, I keep them ... grudgingly. They take up sooo much space! Yet I can't put them to good use as they need to be pristine for resale value. And the size of some! The one from the Legend Diver takes the cake, bigger'n a frickin shoebox, and weighs 1mft to boot.

No need, I believe most of us do.
Got all of them with me.
Keep the boxes?
I don't even keep the watches!
Yep I did a poll on this a little while ago and it seems like you’re in the majority.
When my wife threatens to throw out mine I just remind her closet full of coach bag boxes.
I have plenty of storage space in the basement so it's not a problem for me to keep all the boxes & documentation is large plastic bins from IKEA.
Keep them all... and the tags... and the plastic peel off bits (I'm odd)
Yes, I do and I am not ashamed to admit that I sometimes put the watches back and open them again as if it’s the first time. Guilty pleasure!
Still have the boxes and papers for all the watches I have.
Jep, keeping them all, even the cheaper ones.
I DEMAND AN APOLOGY!
Yep. Especially the ones that might just be passing through.
No apologies needed. You could be the guy who keeps all the boxes.
And the outer boxes
And the shipping sleeves
And DISPLAYS the boxes despite his wife’s considerable irritation.
Can you show that Citizen Star Wars?
I got a few posts about it on my profile, I even got to take it to Galaxy's Edge!
Oh, that's a beautiful piece 😍
Oh ya. I have them. All of them. Why...WHY can't I just let them go? 😭
some casio cheapies go
but the rest are about

I have every single box. But I was recently considering getting rid of the Casio boxes.

Taking my watch boxes to the storage unit...😉
I have so many watch boxes, I got a watch box box. Now I keep all my watch box boxes in a watch box box box...or something!
I always keep the box, the idea of not doing so just does not compute. 😁
I have all the boxes that came with my watches. 🤝
Yes. It helps also if you sell the watch later down the road.
I have all 2 of them, yes
Currently have some on display with the watches
