Are We Better than Hodinkee??!!

They’re fine. They have a bit more access then (it seems) we have so there’s some nice stuff there. They have their place and Crunch has its place. Personally I prefer it here with y’all but H is a nice place to visit.

Hodinkee is like golf. WC is like minigolf. You will go for the latter if you actually want to have fun 🥳

I have never had any use for Hodinkee. They can go away and take all their limited edition collabs with them for all I care.

Honestly, I find the site and app confusing , don’t mind the YouTube stuff like interviews but to discuss and talk about the hobby I find their site poorly done and felt pretentious … oh well hence we’re here so WC is way better…

I’m thinking more about Hodinkee being part of the problem, with millions of dollars in venture capital trying to drive up profits in the industry and ruining everything for the hobbyist.

Sadly I didn’t make it, stupid work!! But I wish I was there!! They sure look like they had fun though plus meeting @HotWatchChick69 in person would have been a blast … he’s like my spirit animal hahahaha!!

Also seein post and meet up like these and the one @Deeperblue hosts looks soo much fun… I feel like I belong and seriously genuinely real people … unless they’re all faking it 😂

Maybe it's just me, but I click to Worn & Wound, Hodinkee, and Monochrome just about every day. I don't often find articles I want to read, but I'm always interested to see what they're covering. If it's Rolex/Omega/Tudor or some millionth iteration of a boring dive watch, I jab myself with a pin to wake up and then click onward. If it's Sarah Miller, I'll read it every time. If it's something new and beautiful and expensive, I might take a look, just for fun. I don't get all the hate.

Today I learned Hodinkee has a community. I still am not entirely sure what it is exactly they are doing/selling. I thought they were a YouTube channel with articles.

Crunch is now the 800 lb gorilla of Watchlandia.

I've commented a few time into the Void a few times on Hodink and won't be bothered doing that anymore!

Hodinkee is fine. I appreciate they have made a concerted effort over the last couple years to diversify, but as a whole the site is a snoozefest and the last thing I want to do is engage in a general comment section over there. WC is where it is at.

PS, @Ichibunz we need do somehow manage a New England Meet-up. Lots of us between MA, CT, and RI here.
