Tudor BB58 collection

So woke up this morning nice and refreshed and all I was thinking as usual was watches!! Ok no change there but all of sudden I have this lust for collecting bb58’s in different case materials!! I know I’m crazy!! So I would like folks who have these watches their opinion on them!!

Ok I have the Bronze now… my next will be either the blue dial steel or the Silver with NATO!!…

Ok that’s is all !! Also now dang it since I traded my pelagos 39 that would a nice piece to re-acquire too for the Tudor case material collection!!

Also would you consider the Pelly 39 more like the bb58 ?

😁

I own the BB58 925 , the dial is hand down the best in the bb58 collection ,the only problem i have personally is that i like to wear my watches on braclet , initially that was not the case but my taste have changed and not having a braclet for the bb58 925 makes me wear it less with that being said its a very special watch.

Thanks !! How was the tarnishing? Have you ever cleaned it with the eraser method? @MinuteMon did a video on his and love his strap options he chose…

Also love @MinuteMon ’s video of the 4 seasons!! Made me want all 4 … thanks dude hahaha!!

@abelBGNR, this post is about us 😀 What are your thoughts on your silver?

I have the steel-blue, it's just the perfect diver for any time. The look, the specs, the size, there is nothing not to love about it. Some people don't like the lack of no-tool micro-adjust on the clasp, but it was never a problem for me, it's a great bracelet after all!

I love my pelagos 39, I chose it over the 58 as I don’t like the faux rivets on the bracelet. Love the taupe though and the bronze. Shame I have a self imposed rule of 1 brand per watch in my collection.

Maybe you could get a Forstner one?

I’m sorta facing this dilemma too. I want at last one Tudor watch in my collection, but I think i can only justify owning one. I’m considering these two. I love blue but my family has some heirloom stuff in silver, so I’m leaning towards that for my future purchase. That blue is very lovely tho…

There’s no need to touch it within an eraser. All you have to do is soak it and vinegar and baking soda. I did it with mine, and the tarnishing was removed without any issue.

Do you thinking the tarnishing is mostly to do with how much one wears it? It wouldn’t be a big stressor for me; just curious.

I was a bit like this with Seiko recently. ….well…maybe a little “currently” as well lol.

Love it!! I have the bronze now!! I might end up with the blue one end of day 🤣🤣🤣

Oh is that rubberB rubber strap on the bronze and is it green?

If i had to choose a bronze watch (with a good budget), i would probably get an Oris. I just love the way theirs oxidizes.

Thanks for the tip. Just made mine look 95% new again 🫡

Nope. It’s the opposite. Silver tarnishes when you don’t wear it. It’s very odd

Huh… interesting. I wonder if it’s because, when one wears it, one is constantly rubbing away at the tarnished surface or something. Does the tarnish wear off some when you wear it? I know you can kinda rub it off a little with your fingers.

I just soaked mine in vinegar and baking soda on top of aluminum foil and everything came off without me having to touch it

Seems like we are very much in sync! After falling for (and buying) some vintage Tudor subs - I decided I wanted a BB58 as a beater. The two that most appeal are the blue and the 925. As I don’t want a bracelet prices are very good on the blue especially! Long story short I picked up a full set on strap today for £1,700 on eBay. Hopefully will be with me by weds!

Am interested to hear if I really should have gone 925?

Ps my kingdom for a 39mm blue Pelagos FXD with block indices 🤤

Ohhh congrats!! I’ll let you know once i get a good pricing on the 925 🍻 but that’s awesome price for the blue one!!

Tried on the BB58 blue. Unimpressed.

The 925 was another story entirely. Very few $4K watches that are absolute "must haves" when try them on. This one was.

Wear mine exclusively on The Watch Steward Marine Nationale straps.
