Hey Everyone!
First post! I joined yesterday, or today, depending on your time zone. Watch enthusiast since I was a kid, but really got into it over the past few years.
Wanted to share a few timepieces in my collection and to introduce myself. Always looking to chat with watch enthusiasts.
One of the newer timepieces in the collection, JLC’s Ultrathin moonphase. Love this watch, simple and elegant! Just class in my opinion.
Probably the loudest timepiece I own. An Aventi burnt titanium. I believe there are less than 60 of these in the wild. Shortly after receiving it, they discontinued the model. Don’t know all the details, but I believe they couldn’t perfect the burning process, hence they pulled it from their lineup. It’s a huge watch, but actually sits really well on the wrist.
There’s always a favorite in the collection, and this is my favorite - the Tudor Black Bay 58. I originally purchased it as a daily, but this watch means so much to me! I’ve had many wonderful moments while wearing this watch over the past 2 years.
I don’t think this watch needs an introduction. Was fortunate to get the Chrono of all Chronos. Yes, there was a wait, and no I did not play any AD games.
Another watch that holds a special place in my heart. Seiko Quartz Solar V158. My dad gave me this watch. Will def pass it down in the family.

Starting to explore Zenith and Hamilton (considering the khaki above). Would love to know everyone’s experience with these brands.

Welcome. I'm actually the most interested in the Seiko, that's the space I inhabit, but thanks for showing all the other beauties as well. Don't see many Aventis around here (or anywhere, apparently).

Thanks, appreciate it but I did not pick up the Hamilton. I’ve contemplated it for a while, but decided to put a pause on it. Figure I need to show my current collection more love.

Ah right mate, at the end of the post you mentioned. The khaki is great, but lug to lug is quite long. I had a khaki mechanical but chose to sell it because didn’t really like the proportions. A neo vintage one from 2000s though so may differ from the modern case. You could look into a French brand called Merci they have great designs, but not really the history yet

Merci - I’m not familiar with them but I will take a look. Are they a French brand? How long have they been around?

Yeah it’s Merci Instruments. I believe around 10 years ago, but I came across them last year. Have been mentioned in Revolution Watch and Hodinkee too
