It is quite awesome, even looking at it online it intrigued me but in the metal just felt different. I got the bracelet but haven’t come around to swapping it out. Good to know that it wears well 😊

Ah wish I could here the chirp IRL someday too mate 😆

Tough choice and both have their pros and cons. I’d personally go for the SSK001J1 as the JDM version is all brushed even the jubilee (on the K1 it’s polished center links) and the bracelet of the SSK023 is a bit chunkier to the eye. A rotating bezel is always good fun. Also it doesn’t hurt that the crown just copied the bezel of the SSK 😂

Great discussion starter. I believe there’s a fine line between snobbery and taste which varies for everyone.

I myself quite appreciate “fashion watches” more than the blatant homages on AliX as there is an element of design brought with “fashion watches”, and is the first gateway for any non watch enthusiasts to start wearing watches besides a smartwatch. Also there is a reason these watches are popular with the masses that should be considered by watchmakers and enthusiasts rather than niche demands.

AliX products mostly push on specs, which I respect, but I guess manufacturers are easy to get the best specs for cheaper prices without having to think much on original design. Then again I’m not one to look away from these watches as I’ve owned a Pagani Design and currently enjoy a Sugess Chrono Heritage.

But still, I think the art of designing a watch with a certain look has more value than putting together the best specs that you’ve sourced in bulk. Just my opinion though 🤙🏽

Waiting to see this in the metal!

If I had infinite money I’d consider it. But I’d also consider the new gold green Black Bay 🤷‍♂️

Thanks mate, I thought there might be someone else. Yeah I don’t know, but the story telling of the video just seems off to me. But the point from the macros are valid in some sense. Thanks for the discussion, didn’t know if my thoughts on that channel was too personal or what
