YouTube watch content

I’ve been watching a little bit of watch content on YouTube over the last year or so but only really Teddy Baldassarre and recently, About effing time and Wristwatch Revival.

Do you crunchers have any recommendations of good channels to watch or podcasts to listen too?

To be honest any watch content at all, love to hear what you all consume

Hope everyone’s having a good Boxing Day

There are lots of great ones and everyone has different tastes, and a few WC members have channels, here are a few that I like personally. I tend to prefer affordable with the odd dip into high end. @EricsEverydayWatches @MWC2020 @benswatchclub

Just One More Watch is decent, but it's a lot of videos on watches I don't have interest in. Just a lot of videos in general, so I pick and choose. I like The Urban Genty too. Long Island Watch has some decent technical videos on a number of topics, plus some interesting ones just from the perspective of his business. I'm not really a "watch every video from a channel" type of viewer, so there are some other channels I watch one or two videos from here and there, which usually saves me from facing a lot of the sides I like less of any particular channel. Time Teller has some unique perspectives. Ben's Watch Club does a lot of videos on really affordable stuff. There are several others I watch less of, but it's usually because they focus on more luxury, or at least fancy, stuff that interests me less.

·

I watch the cartel and their spinoffs for all the drama but not for the watch content. Their personalities are the main reason why I'd never buy a luxury watch.

I also watch Tomas, Gedmis, WatchesChecked, My Affordable Watch Collection, Phatkat (occasionally), and Trapvision 3D (occasionally).

The only ones I've stayed watching from the beginning are Max and Ben because they never try to force anything on their viewers.

Everyone else can get a bit too "gushy" at times, and the "influencer" types are obvious. Anyone with the "includes paid promotion" disclaimer never gets watched.

I also avoid the obvious "novelty" grifters and anyone who owns an online watch dealing business now because they bore me. There are a lot of "samey" channels too which all took inspiration from JOMW who has also become too formulaic and never shows any watches I'd be interested in anyway.

Urban Gentry, The Mad Watch Collector #madwatchcollector Bark & Jack and ID Guy all have good content and reviews

Thanks I’ll check these out

Yeah i like that bark & jack fella, saw him on AET, seems like a legit normal guy

·

Nekkid Watchmaker is great.

·

I highly recommend the wrist cheese radio podcast and the grey NATO podcast. I listen to those regularly and they provide some nice thoughts on the hobby consistently.

·

Youreterrific is terrific. Good balance of more recognizable vs. odd pieces. Idguy is great as well. I like Theo and Harris's produced videos too, they always seem to catch the right emotions and romance. Their banter videos can be hit or miss.

·

There’s a new guy called Anthony Farrer he seems like a nice young man and seems trustworthy, I’ll watch his career with great excitement.

·

I would recommend looking up the ones below:

Watch Gringa/Britt Pearce

Peter Kosta

You're Terrific

Mad Watch Collector

The English Watch

24HoursAtATime

And of course Just One More Watch is the GOAT.

·

Fratello On Air is the best podcast out there.

·

There are several informative watch channels but be weary of the presenters that have a horse in the race, if they own a watch shop you can bet they will give great reviews on the brands they carry. But Teddy is exempt, look at “Just One More Watch” Jody calls it like it is.

·

I like Federico Talks Watches. Very short videos but he seems to be very knowledgeable about the industry as he’s a dealer … but he seems to be pretty honest about stuff including the stuff he sells

I recommend the same, I only add Just the Watch for affordable watches, Andrew Morgan and Watchfinder.

·

Peter Kotsa is great.

I like Jody from Just One More Watch

Russell from Mad Watch Collector is a goober, but a loveable one.

Divisive choice, but I like The Urban Gentry. He has as many haters as followers.

Marc from Long Island Watch is a great guy. Good content. Great customer service. In his videos, I start to zone out because I'm staring at his JLC Atmos.

Thank you!

Big fan of Tom and you! 😊

·

I like mad watch collector and urban gentry. Time teller is good.

My favourite channel at the moment is the guy who fixes watches. Just incredible. Makes it look easy and has some really great pieces on.

·

The list above is good Youtubers, and I agree with u and many, watch it "with a grain of salt." Many are just opinions and hardly experts (whatever that means😀). Just adding to spotify podcasts: I like, 40&20 and Worn and Wound.

·

ID Guy. There's plenty of watch Youtubers that do reviews, but his take is from that of an industrial designer.

Wristwatch Revival 👌🏽

·

That’s it. What I like is that all watches are treated the same. Problems are issues to be fixed. There’s no hierarchy. But Rolex movements are beautiful for example. Omegas are very tidy. That’s just my observation.

I’m glad I don’t drink because I’m certain I’d take a mechanical watch apart with a couple in me.

Of course, taking them apart is easy.

·

Here, you can listen to ALL of them in the space of 28 minutes! 👊 https://youtu.be/f82nPwGgUDE?si=3jBnVes1yBrOk3hf
