A stranger at work complimented my watch today.

I don't believe this for a second. No way did this happen. 

I would keep an eye on her if I were you, she may have alterior motives.... No normie talks watches cause theyre "interesting". WC is basically an online support group for addicted and conflicted individuals, she must be trying to infiltrate from the outside. If I see anything suspicious Ill let you know. Watch out.

I do that all the time. I compliment others for their watches without knowing what it is so they ask me about mine.. Fishing for compliments you see! 😎

Nice! But I feel weird everytime I get a compliment… either watch or my stunning good looks … feels awkward … I know I’m weird

Ermergurd!!! I pulled that shit on my doctor's assistant, he was wearing an Orient Triton in green!! I showed off my Orient and we had a moment. It's cool...

I mean, she had to help me, it’s her job. BUT, she chose to be nice and talk watches. So there is that.

I also complement stranger's watches all the time or ask what is that they are wearing. Never came across a watch enthusiast though. Many don't know what exactly they are wearing. Usually a gift or random buy. 

The only reason I even consider this might be a true story is the fact you didn't claim you were wearing an Invicta and she grabbed your arm because she thought it was a Rolex. 
 

Too many fan bois claim that story, Mandela effect of some sort from watching too much ShopHQ. 

In all the years I have collected watches it's only happened twice. Once was a very over sized Pam homage many years ago, and the second time was a Seiko SKX with a coke dial. Nobody has ever noticed any of my expensive timepieces 

The only exception tends to be expensive watches, and those people tend to know nothing about quality affordable watches 

It's because the reasons to love and wear watches is different. I look for a comfortable, robust, reliable partner on the wrist. I don't care if it says Rolex or Timex if it does the job for me and pleases my eye every time I check the time. The people who collect and wear only expensive watches do that for luxurious feeling, status, prove that you fit in that community. We have different identities, but how wonderful the watches are they can be a part of the identity for both groups and many more :)

Back in the days you get her number take her to Dennis or the movies. Bring her into you place show her your stamp, coins and watch collection.

Change your watch everyday and see what she likes. Maybe you can find out her taste in watches. Good way to carry on with the conversation.
