I bought a Mont Blanc 149 because, just like a Submariner, it’s the one you “have to have.” I didn’t like it. It was just a black and gold pen. Much the way the Submariner is just a black dial, steel watch. I know there’s history there, but I just couldn’t see the hype. I have since bought and sold a Namiki Enperor and a Pelican M1000. I love fountain pens. I think my most expensive now, though, is a Platinum 3776 amongst a sea of TWSBIs. 🤣
No, I wouldn’t think so. If the movement (the part that has the highest chance of failure) is good and proven, then a stainless steel case and crystal are all relatively the same.
Adam Levine got dragged for having his Daytona customized by Artisans De Geneve. It’s a real Daytona, but they added custom parts and new dial/bezel. Idk this just looks cheap.
