Show me your mod projects!!

Just finished modding this Orient Kamasu II. Man, the original bezel was nearly impossible for me to get off. I legitimately needed to use a hammer. But it was well worth the effort to have this unique piece of cranberry sauce. Comment below with pics of your mod projects!!

Crystal: double domed AR sapphire from Crystal Times

Bezel: Long Island Watch, made for orient cases and to fit flat SKX bezel inserts

Bezel insert: DLW, umber ceramic, not lumed unfortunately

Bracelet: Strapcode

Nice job.

Orient……. Just finished modding this Ray 2, domed sapphire, SKX bezel and a ceramic insert. Like yourself I indeed had problems with getting the old bezel off and yes after stripping out the movement, sapphire I took a hammer to it 😂 and it came off phew

Your watch looks fab 👍🏻👌🏻

Well done yourself!! The bezel color is a perfect match for the dial.

Man, everything about it was fun except taking the bezel off. I’m sure you can relate to this too but it adds the pressure to get the bezel alignment perfect on the first try, because you know the bezel’s not coming off again 😂

The original bezel was so tight to turn and closely fitted to the case it was a real sod to get off, but the new one with a slight bit o pressure from the press clicked on sweetly 😅

·

I'm curious, couldn't you have just replaced the bezel insert?

Had a tight bezel, bit of suitable oil solved that, well, for me anyway.

That's what I miss from Orient.

Unfortunately with orient divers you can’t use any after market inserts because the inner edge of the stock bezel isn’t perfectly round, it has six indentations.

They both look great, I especially like that Panerai-like one. I can see you are serious about working on watches, very nice set up!!

I've built several watches already since I'm into moding. My favorite ones are this:

For the first and third watch I'm waiting for the bracelets to arrive any day soon and for the second watch I'd ordered the movement spacer cushion because the dial is not centered, hopefully that will fix the alignment of the dial and bezel indices. On my next build I'll very likely consider this exact color combination that you modified your Orient with, it looks very good 👌😍😍

Excellent work!! Modding is very satisfying, when it all comes together. Please post it if you do the orient build!! DLW watches have several umber colored bezel inserts that match the dial perfectly.

I just realized I sent a picture with the date blocked, lol. This was the first one I modified the date wheel by buying a metal disk from a Singapore seller on eBay. I used adhesive dial dots on top of the white date wheel and carefully adhered it. It’s like 95% straight so I’m happy with it lol.

But thank you that means a lot.
