I was lucky to find one not in the box that was in such good condition but would have to agree with you that it was rare to find something in between NIB and BTH (beat to hell).
Love to see your Snapple watch if you have a pic and encourage anyone else in the community to publish pics of their promotional watch if you gottem!
I keep every watch box, tag, papers, box sleeve and yes... even the protective plastic on the crystal and caseback regardless if I plan on keeping it forever or not so forever. I keep all of my watch boxes in a large snap lid plastic tub. So yeah... I buy a box to store my empty boxes. It's just who I am.
This is a great topic. I've been on a search for a similar "short of grail" dress watch. I know you said something in white, but there's no denying this vintage 1964 Omega Geneve 131.019 is as elegant as one can get. Its up on eBay for less than $600 USD.
Although they have a cream dial with rose gold case version of this watch, the Seiko SSA343 Cocktail Time 'Skydiving' with an ice blue dial caught my eye and can be had for less than $500. In fact I would check out their entire Cocktail Time lineup for some possible candidates.
Thank you. It came with a Bambi Fixo Flex bracelet that was WAYYYY too small to fit on my wrist and I had done a great deal of comparison research of straps and bracelets and this particular color/material really intrigued me.
I was going to build my own Seamaster 300 homage based on a NH35 movement. This project was on the backburner when I came across San Martin and the SN051-G was on sale. For most part I couldn't have built it any cheaper. So I said, "Why not?". Got the watch, I'm happy with it and it's a great throw around watch.
For now, it serves as a placeholder until I can pickup the real McCoy (if prices keep falling like they are, it may be sooner than later.)
Four years after being an early adopter of the e-watch, I got finally got tired of the information overload when all I wanted to know was what time it was. I caught some videos of Curt over @minitwatch and I decided to go automatic starting with the Seiko Black Sea Urchin followed in quick succession with a SNKE51K1 and this SRPB46 all within a three week period in 2018. I know... I fell for Seiko HARD.
Here is my Seiko Cocktail Manhattan along side its namesake, a High West Double Rye Manhattan with a Housemade Brandied Cherry. She's become my "date night" watch.
Easy! The Casio F105W. God Tier
No one needs to know I won the lottery. That has always been the trap of winning the lottery then losing it all. Flexing with an iced up AP, Jacob & Co or Patek Grandmaster will always draw hanger-on's with their hands out.
I'd park and invest the money in a safe, legit place and pay myself a reasonable wage while traveling the world in business class for the first five years then slow roll into the old money, wealthy lifestyle.
