Call it quits, what watch would it take.

As I get more and more sucked down the rabbit hole of the wonderful world of watches, the concept of just having one watch and being happy with it is laughable.

However, if push comes to shove, and you had to stick with one watch or can one buy one more watch before calling it quits, which one would you choose?

For me, I think in this scenario that would be Tudor Pelagos LHD.

So for the sake of our discussion,

  • Money is not a factor, what matters is your love for the piece

  • It can be a watch model from the past, or no longer in production

  • Has to be a mass produced, so no limited editions please.

  • Please post a photo of the watch in your reply. Some of us (mainly me) are very visual :)

Never stopping Never retiring 😂

But if I had to it’d be the Vacheron 1921 gold

Ohhhhhhh, it's a beauty

Honestly, I was content with my one watch for 12+ years (SMP 212.30) until I watched Teddy B on YouTube and now I am miserable with buying watches, straps and posting WRUW on WatchCrunch.

This but I still won’t stop collecting.

There just isn’t a better three handed watch design or execution than this. Tried one on in Munich that an AD bought back in a trade.

Love the mental challenge … but I think I’m not capable of it 😩

I litterly just did this. I bought one last watch before calling it quits for at a minimum 10 years. The Rolex submariner date green bezel mkii. Always loved the history and importance of the submariner. I have other Rolex but can I really say I collect Rolex and not have owned a sub? This is the most iconic watch in the world but a special edition of it and green is my favorite color. I can wear this in any situation for the rest of my life

I want to go to an AD and try to get a Royal oak but I am scared they will call me and I’ll have to sell all my Rolex I love to afford it

I imagine you sound like Sean Connery in The Rock when you said this

Seamaster Aqua Terra Teak Dial

·

Vertex M100A, or an original Dirty Dozen.

·

Cartier Santos or Panerai PAM111 maybe. They kinda fit any situation in my opinion. I think anything way above 10k I‘d be uncomfortable wearing tbh

I’m almost there … slowly consolidating and selling off with the aim of getting it down to 4 and adding one more, possibly a Glashutte, Cartier or Franck Muller Crazy Hours.

·

For its beauty and versatility.

Cartier Santos Dumont XL blue dial... Yeah I've thought about it lol

·

I know this is dreaming, but if they made a 39mm version of this watch I think that would be my one watch to rule them all!

·

Wow. Honestly, it would most likely be an AT or Santos Medium. Money no issue would be Gold and the full Sha Bang at that!

Rolex Day-Date with Champagne dial & Roman Numerals. No holds Barred.

Much like evolution, watch collecting never really stops. Even if you stop buying you can't really stop being a watch nerd. C'mon let's be realistic.

·

Just look at that beauty! What elegant lines... What fine detail. 😍

Variation on the similar theme.

Totally agree

Can't stop, won't stop 🤣

If I had a larger wrist it would be the Certina DS Action in black and 41mm. It’s a solid cheap quartz with 200m of water resistance on an attractive bracelet. It looks like an Aqua Terra and a Longines Conquest had a baby. Man oh man do I wish they made this in 39mm

I saw this one in a boutique the other day and it’s so beautiful. If it fit me better I’d be all over it

·

Lange Odysseus in steel or the Lange 1815 up down in white gold.

·

There is no such thing as an exit watch!
