I own a GS (not a diver) and do not own an Omega. In this case though I would go with the Omega. GS divers have , in my opinion, never been their strong suit ( too large). Love their GADA, GMT, and dress watches but not divers.

The 44GS case just seems like it has more broad surfaces of high polish than other GS cases. Funny thing is I have a Reverso too and you’re right, scratches are very visible on it as well but in my opinion the 44GS case is worse

I do love Grand Seiko’s, but……I just traded away a 40mm watch with 44GS case for a number of reasons
I think that dimension/case combination wears big. At least it did on my 6.6” wrist. I have another 40mm GS from the evolution 9 collection and it is much easier for me to wear.
The 44GS case has a LOT of high polish surfaces and when they scratch it’s very noticeable.
Third reason is that mine was a GMT and I found it to be not very legible in that I was constantly seeing the GMT hand as the minute hand….I know, I know, I could have read the time more carefully, but, well I didn’t.
Also wearing this. Ridiculous how much enjoyment I get from this $30 watch
