I meant at the same price point you get similar value for money at Sinn/Nomos and CW.
Example: Club Campus vs C63 GMT. Nomos also has great build quality, 99% in-house manufacturing and a beautifully decorated in-house movement.
For Sinn, you‘re probably right that the mark-up is a slightly higher, but definitely not by the factor that CW claims. Example: Sinn 556 (1325€) vs C63 Sealander (1040€) - both on the bracelet. But with Sinn you get a top-grade SW-200 (not just elaboré) and a network of retailers where you can try the watch on and come back to in case of any problems.
Maybe it’s just my German bias though 😂🤷🏻♂️Anyway, I‘d still love a C63 GMT because it looks great and is sturdy
A promise by a company that wants to earn money doesn’t mean much to me. Also what do they consider under production cost? Their watches aren’t really superior to some other watches in their price range in my opinion. Some German brands like Circula, Sinn and especially Nomos are at least on par with CW for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like some of the Cristopher Ward offerings and I would buy one, but the claim that they are better value for money than other brands is not the reason. The claim only seems true when comparing CW to large Swiss and Japanese manufacturers I think.
