I'm there mentally... I have tried to put on other watches a couple of times over the last few days. Maybe to enjoy them before selling. But I just want to put this back on ๐ I don't feel any panic over the fact I'm selling the rest of my watches.
I still find them beautiful, but I don't mind the fact that they no longer will be mine.
I will probably end up getting the Seiko Prospex Solar 38mm on a canvas single pass nato from Zuludiver as a backup watch.
It will have to do when my watch is going in for a service this year or next. And for the times I'm actually doing something so brutal that a mechanical watch just would be irresponsible. And it will also be there for the moment where I regret deciding to commit 100% to my Black Bay 36.
That being said, I came across a very nice used Cartier Solo Tank yesterday. Now wouldn't that be a handsome duo? Hahaha!! Just kidding ๐ I would NEVER....

Completely understand, I feel the same about my Oris Propilot. Its not for everyone but everything about it is perfect for me. Its difficult wearing other watches now.
Looks like you found THE Oneโฆcongratulations
I donโt believe you
I donโt believe you
If you are going to do it then that is a great one watch choice.
You are a braver man than me. I will keep an eye on your posts moving forward just to see if you have kept it up.....just saying!
I can be really convincing!! Just ask my wife ๐
Not convinced ๐คฃ
Give it a little bit of time and a new piece will catch your eye.

I hope so ๐ It is true if I believe?

Maybe..
If you get the Tank Solo, Iโll get one Deal?!
๐
Hopefully Iโll get to this point one day. This โhobbyโ is a thinly veiled disease. That being said, that would leave too many empty spaces in the watch box and that would disturb my OCD.
I donโt believe you
That's what I came to say. I'm sure he believes it, but we all know he's wrong. I'm looking forward to some posts about rebuying watches.
Good luck with that! Iโm skeptical๐ง
you fooled us once already! haha
Jokes aside, the SNE569 is a great watch. I own it, and believe it or not ALMOST sold it. But then I looked at it again and said...I can't! It's the bracelet that sucks tbh. But on a strap it is a great, light, easy and accurate watch.
I'm assuming you still have a GShock too?
Don't do it!!!
I've sold my entire collection before, once I had got my Grail (sm300) ..... Once the honeymoon period had worn off I regretted selling them. Obviously I still adore my Seamaster, but the need for variety is an inherent quality in those of us who collect things... So my advice would be wait a couple of months & reassess then, so you can sell without regret.
Good luck ๐๐ป
Well, I just followed you to see how this goes. Good luck bud.
Good choice on the Seiko either way tho.
Oh, boy... guys, remember the last time?
"We got him" ๐ซ
Thatโs great if thatโs a decision youโre really happy withโฆItโs a great one watch collection, the size design and color - very nice.
I love that seiko. Iโve got the green one. It disappears on the wrist and you can put it through hell.
It isn't technically a one watch collection. But the point is to be wearing the Black Bay and the Seiko just as backup ๐
My wife has the brown version, so I am familiar with the model. Nice size, versitile, functional and durable. I should have made the Seiko my one watch ๐ Then I wouldn't need a backup..
Well, I just followed you to see how this goes. Good luck bud.
Any good show has a couple of plot twists ๐
I think it's a good life choice, but who knows. Stay tuned.
Lordy itโs like having only wife ! Who would a thunk it ? ๐
One is plenty ๐ณ I have my hands full

I have got to see this to the end!

There was a man who wanted just one watch~!
I believe in you...! ๐

The solution is not to just sell the watches but also the watch box.
You do realize that downsizing to 2 watches will disqualify you from future 1WC. Whilst still owning the other watches you could participate in this year's event though (apparently for the last time) and show everyone how strong-willed you are, going all the way to the end. Either that, or end up with egg on your face.

I need 5 more to qualify for the 1WC. Also I put zero pride in this plan and feel no commitment to others than myself. This is just my thought process, what I feel is correct for me. That may change, but maybe not. But I have no judgement for the rest of you that feel another way.

Ah, I was mistaken. I was under the impression (given the title of the post) that you did have a watch collection and now planned to downsize because you found your grail. That makes it a little easier for you. Trying a few watches at a dealer is very different from building up an (even small) collection and having the liberty to choose the watch of the day.
The point of the commitment to others is not that the others play any real part in your lives and have a bone in your dogfight, the point is that the failure to comply comes with a social consequence, a public shaming, and even the threat of that (and the mildness of the shaming) helps with the commitment. Otherwise you are like an "ex"-alcoholic who at some point decided to quit but who eventually justifies their next bottle of vodka with "I had a tough day", whilst the rest of the world failed to notice their struggle.
Anyway, that is moot as far as 1WC goes for you.

I also quit drinking one and half a year ago ๐
I appreciate the sosial pressure to become a better version of myself ๐ Thanks ๐
