A Graduation Gift From Me…to Me
NWA! After graduating from University, I thought it would be nice to get myself something to remember this milestone. I wanted something I could wear everyday, something durable and well-built, and something a little different. After much consideration I ended up choosing the Certina DS Action 38mm. For me, it’s basically a perfect watch; it’s something I could wear with anything because of it’s mostly brushed case finishing, Certina is a brand that is built with durability and toughness in mind so I know this watch will last for years, the case size at 38mm with a 12mm thickness is perfect for my 6.75 inch wrist, and, being in Canada, I don’t think I’ve ever seen another Certina on someone’s wrist which gives it some rarity.
So there it is. A gift from myself to my future self to always have something to remind me of this big achievement.

Great decission. Yes, they are quite rare in North America. They used to have no distribution there. At least till last year. I think I've heared that they had build up or will build up an distribution network. But from here germany I can tell you, that these are great divers in this price range.

Thank you very much. Yes, for Canada, we only have one retailer from which you can only purchase online. I was unsure about purchasing a watch at this price without having tried it on, but I can say that I'm incredibly impressed by this. The case finishing, the bezel action, the movement, it definitely feels more expensive than its retail price. I'm super happy with it.

I've tryed it on once and I loved it.
It's definatly also on my short list.
Plus the movement they are using is the C07.611 higher tier version of the Powermatic 80.
Definitely a milestone worthy of a watch.

What’s your experience been?
Received a damaged watch, a jewel shattered and fell into the movement. The only warranty they have is their in house... I wasn't going to ship it back to NYC and take a chance of receiving it broken again. I absorb the cost of the repairs myself and got my watchmaker to do the repair... The Mido baroncelli I got for 288 USD set me back nearly 400 CAD.
