One Year On The Wrist! • Hamilton Khaki Automatic 38mm

One year flew by! I purchased this last year as my daily driver and honestly I wasn’t sure how long it would last in my collection. I like experiencing different types and brands of watches so I buy and sell pretty often but I can definitively say that this watch, after having owned it for a year, is a keeper. There are so many things to love about it. The 38mm size is great, the case finishing is fantastic, the movement is very accurate, and it looks great on any strap thrown it’s way.

For those reasons, along with its 10 bar water resistance, it’s a great daily driver. I’ve worn it to an evening out to a fancy restaurant on a leather strap and to a mountain trail on a nylon strap. Dressed up or down and it’ll always look great.

I would recommend this watch 100% of the time to someone looking for an everyday watch that can (almost) do it all. I hope I can keep wearing this for years to come.

I have one on the OEM bracelet and I love both the watch and the bracelet. Great daily and definitely a keep for me.

V glad it has delighted you too.

+1 to this. The Hammy is one of the favorites in my collection for the specs and wearing experience. It's almost perfect other than the shiny polishing that gets dinged up quickly and the strap that never breaks in.

Oh cool, I've been meaning to look into purchasing a bracelet as well.

Totally agree with you., the wearing experience is just awesome. It also took a really long time to break in the leather strap but found it pretty comfortable once it was. However, once I bought a leather strap from Hirsch I've never thought about putting the OEM one back on.

Seiko gets a lot of flack for bad straps/bracelets but the Hammy KFA strap is a travesty.

The Hirsch is on the first photo? I've read a lot of good things about Hirsch.

Yes, the first photo with the brown leather strap is Hirsch. I highly recommend buying from them, great quality.

I almost pulled the trigger on the quartz version of this watch a couple of months back. After weeks of searching, I found an online retailer who had it listed. I drop by only to find out their webstore front was not updated 🤪.

I think it’s one of the best valued swiss watches available, I love how flexible it is to style and unlike its mechanical siblings, it has 100m water resist.

Ahh that's unfortunate, I hope you find one.

Yes I totally agree, the automatic version looks really good on most straps. I find that the mechanical versions look best on nylon straps because with a leather strap there's an big gap between the strap and the case.

My first mechanical watch — still one of my favourites all time

The leather and nylon straps look good !

I think you and I have the exact same Hirsch Buffalo leather strap on our Khaki fields 😎🫡

We clearly have great taste! 😉

Nice strap in the first shot. I’ve been looking at Hirschs heavy calf options but they are quite thick and I’m concerned they’ll crack.

Thanks! This one's a Hirsch Boston and they're a little bit thinner so they break in easier and I think it also looks better because it's thinner. As much as I didn't mind the original strap, I found it a bit too thick.
