I was thinking about removing the additional chains, yet the rings are welded, one can't just open it without special tools/heating
My idea was that they attached some fobs to the additional carabines. Yet this part of the chain is too short and it's also located on the same side as the watch. I just can't imagine how it should look in practice. Like, we put the watch into a pocket, and take 2 carabines with fobs outside?
Pictures on the internet usually show smth like this, we can see that the watch is on one end of the chain, and the fob (1 piece) is on the opposite side:
