Found my grail chronograph!
Finally landed my dream chronograph! Got my hands on a Zenith Chronomaster Manfacture Edition 😃
Had been smitten with the look of chronographs but could never find one that I really can bond with. Was staring at Rolex Daytonas for a while but they are so hyped up and overpriced (at grey market) that I gave up. Then spent years toying with Omega Speedmasters but after buying and selling 3 😬… gave up on them. I found them too thick, top heavy (for me).
So looking around, chanced upon Zeniths but it was tough to find the right one. The modern ones were a little off in my opinion (1/10th second? Straight lugs?) the older versions had weird height variations (>13.5mm). In any case was looking for something a little more unique and found this gem of a watch. Special manufacture edition.
Love the blue sub-dials. Special but cohesive enough to make it stand out and blend in at the same time (does it make sense? 🤣). Just shy of 13mm thick, 38mm size. Perfect watch for me! Would have been even better had I actually visited and bought this at Zenith Manufacture in Switzeland … but I suppose I can try and “reverse engineer” it one day and visit when I am there in the future. Always an excuse to travel there… 😅
Amateur collector who has gone down the rabbit hole of chasing after a new watch too many times. Now trying to expand my horizons with greater knowledge and creating a more interesting collection that...

Bad luck...My trip to Geneva is cancelled due to Covid.
Good luck...due to Covid...Zenith makes the watch available online for purchase.
Try buying the watch, but they want a Swiss address to setup the account to purchase.

Good luck...my colleague in Switzerland allows me to setup the account with his Swiss address.
Even better luck...now with the Swiss address, Zenith allows me to purchase the watch and deliver to my US address.

My only complaint is that with a 7.5 inch wrist the strap barely fits. Would have been nice to be able to order an XL strap.
If you are looking for a companion to this reference, the Zenith Chronomaster Original is essentially the same watch with the classic dial...(but with the racing 1/10th of a second chronograph)...
I swapped out the grey suede strap for the Forstner Gay Freres style ladder bracelet...
Wanted that original vintage look...was shocked that Zenith did not make a ladder bracelet to fit this watch.
Massively underrated watch. I’d rather have that than a Daytona.
I’m also pretty iffy about chronographs (though recently found one that I think I’ll go for). That Zenith looks exceptional!

Yeah, that other brand that shall not be named doesn’t allow you to order a gold Daytona bracelet if you own the OysterFlex model. And you can’t order the Oysteflex if you own a Daytona on a gold bracelet. Why do they do this? Why make me buy two models?!! JK 😫😑💸💸💸🤪🙈

I’m so thrilled that you found your dream Zenith. I like you struggle with larger watches, and prefer smaller chronographs below 40 mm. I also totally understand the struggle of thickness with most automatic chronographs. Zenith does such a good job with their Revival line and all those heritage designs.

Got my Zenith before the price increase. I’ve been wearing it in my rotation which is completely random. I think it’s a wonderful watch. Wears well and the movement speaks for itself. Few better.
