Is it too big for my wrist?

Hi Crunchers, this Longines was my first “real” watch. I can said this is kind of an impulsive purchase. After learning so much about in the watch, I feel like this was a bit too big for my wrist, especially after I bought the second watch Sinn U50 and it’s fit very well. What do you think if this is too big or not too bad, thinking of selling this after one year of wearing…

Not at all, looks great 😍👍🏻

In principle you’re allowed a large pilot watch. It’s the style, it’s appropriate, and looks cool. I like yours personally. But only you know if it’s right for you. If you love it, keep it.

·

It's a good looking dive watch! I almost bought one a while back. I think it's right on the edge size-wise but you can pull it off. Great choice on the U50! I've been checking those out lately.

·

Looks fine on your wrist!

·

Its on the edge but you can pull it off. This model is going to wear quite big with those long slender lugs and flat case. As long as it is comfortable and you like the fit, then that is the important thing.

Longines has been teasing the 39mm model for a year and hasn't released it yet but if you do change your mind then it maybe a better option for you when it releases.

·

Photo looks good but is it comfortable? If you don’t enjoy wearing it, then replace it. Watches should be worn otherwise buy a clock.

·

Why were you wearing fake watches before that?? Seems weird🙄

·

There are no rules but the modern fashion is usually around 80% coverage of the back of your wrist. Previously this was 60-70% and in the good old days it was smaller still. If you're not a slave to fashion wear what you like.

·

I suspect that my wrist might be thicker than yours but I recently purchased a Black PVD Legend diver that is fitted with a rubber strap and folding clasp so wears very comfortably on my wrist. The photo looks fine but if it is not sitting comfortably you might consider an OEM rubber strap. I prefer larger watch cases so that is what I wear but if you like smaller watches, you know the best course of action.

·

Yes, it does look large for your wrist.

The length of the lugs on this watch is tough for some to pull off. I often have the opposite problem with watches (they are too small - even if they are the fashionable size).

There are so many models out there, often with multiple size iterations of the same watch, that you will not lack for want of choice.

However, in the end, if you like it, wear it and forget about what the right size should be.

I'd say yes, too big. This model already wears big because of the long lugs and expansive dial due to internal bezel. Even in your pic the lugs go past the top of your wrist which to me means it's probably too big.

🔥

Yes way to big in my eyes

·

It's a beautiful watch but if you ask me, yes it looks too big to me.

·

yes, it looks like a bit of overhang...but there are no rules so if it's comfortable and you enjoy it wear it...on your next purchase try some other sizes...two different watches the same size do not fit the same...so many factors like lug length etc

·

IMO a bit oversized for your wrist size

·

The camera angle makes it look like a big watch. You should definitely try curved end rubber, silicone straps and also bracelets

·

I Think it looks great!

·

If you think it fits and you like the watch, nothing else matters

·

I think it Looks great! I have a couple of watches that sometimes feel too big for me but I noticed I usually feel that way when I’d just taken off a smaller watch. The best test is to look at your reflection in the mirror or have someone else take a picture of you wearing it, those self wrist shots don’t always give the right impression of fit . I had the same issue when I got the Hamilton khaki 38mm, for weeks I thought it was too small and never wore it but now I love it but i try to avoid wearing it after I’d taken off a larger diver to give my eyes sometime to adjust 😄. Same goes for going from small to large.

·

Its definitely at your limit and honestly i think it's a bit too big. I had the 42mm black dial version and with my 6.75" after 1 year I decided it was time to trade in since it was to big for me. I absolutely loved the look of it but in the end looks couldn't make me keep it over comfort and just the whole size of it.

·

The camera angle suggests quite a fair bit of lug overhang. To have some form of impartiality, I would suggest two mirror shots: with hand in and out of pocket.

·

I think it's on the borderline. If you love it, no reason to stop wearing it, but if you're cooling on it, well, this gives you an excuse to sell and get the next one. 😉

·

Pictures can't really tell how it fits, usually in pictures they look larger than they actually are. Don't think that much about the looks, weigh in more how it feels on the wrist.

·

That is always a better question than, "Does this watch make my wrist look fat?" :)

·

It’s only too big if you think it’s too big. I think it’s fine but it’s your decision.

·

Looks great to me.

·

It really depends on your personal preference. To me, it looks too big. Longines seem to have quite leggy lugs in my experience.

·

Have had my eye on this series for a long time. Looks great! If it’s uncomfortable and/or doesn’t fit under cuffs or sweaters well then perhaps it is ‘too big’ but otherwise up to you!

·

Try it on a different strap. It’s one of my favorite watches but the first thing I changed was the strap and it totally made it a watch that will be in my collection and passed on to my kids. I have the Delugs Fauve Barenia strap but this watch would look and feel great with any of the Delugs straps. https://delugs.com/collections/ready-stock-straps/products/fauve-barenia-signature-strap
