The world of watches never ceases to surprise me. As far as Cartier is concerned, I can’t recall a watch that caused as much of a buzz around its laun...
That's true. Most resort dives are no more than 20-30ft. That is where the reefs are, so that's where most of the interesting stuff to look at is. These are the folks who would use luxury divers for diving. Those who are going down to 80-100ft use dive computers to make sure their dives are as safe as possible.
It sounds as though the AD called hoping to unload a piece that isn't selling so well.
I live in Miami, which is full of people with high end sports cars. A while ago, I began seeing lots of Lamborghini SUVs on the road and asked myself why anyone would want such a thing. I mean, Lambos are sports cars for models to drape themselves over, not family cars. So it turns out that having the money to buy one of the supercars isn't enough to actually get your hands on one, you have to have a history with the AD before you get access to the good stuff. Now I don't know if the Lambo SUVs that I see quite often are placeholders for supercars, but I suspect that it's the case.
It turns out that the high end car world works much like the high end watch world.
What is it that you look for in a watch, is it the movement, design, or something else? I'm in the design camp almost exclusively. For the most part, I couldn't care less what kind of movement is powering the watch so long as it's within a minute per day accurate.
Accuracy isn't as big a deal to me as it might be to others because I don't tend to wear the same watch for consecutive days, so I end up resetting each watch when it comes time to wear it.
The design of the watch needs to stand out in some way. Now that can mean that the watch head itself must be interesting enough to stand out while wearing a relatively plain strap, or it can be the watch head is somewhat universal in appearance and will look good on a variety of funky straps that draw attention, like graphic natos or brightly colored leather bands.
I wrote the poll options several times to try and find the best balance. I had originally written it out as 6.5-6.9, but it got messed up in one of the edits.
Oh well. Just choose the one that includes wrist swell when you consume salty foods!
