I have the black dial version of this watch, the SNKL45. It was my daily for nearly two years, beat the crap out of it. I found an oyster bracelet on Etsy with end links that fit pretty well…I wonder if it’s still out there.
Yup, I know the exact feeling. I’m caught between like four models right now. Worst part is that they’re all neo-vintage/discontinued, so I can’t just buy one new. What is your shortlist?
My ultimate goal is buying something like an Omega or GS for under $3k and aspire to be like those guys in YouTube comments who are like “I’ve owned this watch for 20 years and I never take it off my wrist, I love it.”
Basically, an entry level luxury watch I can feel proud about and know it will stand the test of time would be awesome. But to OP, I know what you mean. My three watches get the job done, but none of them spark that “wow” factor, if that makes sense. I’m happy with them, but none of them really make me excited like I think an Omega or GS would.
Stowa also regulates their movements; CW doesn't for their Sealanders. Stowa regulates EVERY movement to 0 to +10 spd accuracy. I'm more of a bracelet guy, so I'm not ENTIRELY convinced on the Stowa, but if you love straps, get the Marine 36.
I'm the odd one out, but I prefer glossy dials by a mile. It makes a watch feel more upscale and more "blingy." Just my personal taste; I'd only get a matte dial if the matte texture is VERY flat and well done. Like the Ginault Silent Service.
