Who is in charge there?

Anyone else feel embarrassed for Movado?

Looks like they are 3D printing some PRXs but haven’t yet finished them.

·

Oh. Wow…

When I think about Movado I always have to think about Kim Jong Un. Not the best ambassador there, consequently there watches of course look like a copy.

·

Nope they do a great job embracing themselves on their own

·

Probably a better movement than the plastic fantastic PRX tho!!

·

A bit late to the game is the expression that immediately springs to mind

·

Don't like it at all, as much as don't like any others that look like that. All the same.

·

I bet they sell a bunch... It's a popular style, and Movado is relatively well known in the realm of "fashion" watches.

I think the watch community pretends that "originality" is far more important than it actually is. Likely ties into people's desire to be seen as more than a mere collector of shiny things that look nice.

·

😂

I find this funny…not because of the blatant copy of the PRX, but because you’ll have people dissing Movado for doing this while wearing their SM or PD “homage” 😂

Is the power Matic 80 that bad? I haven't had any issues with mine

·

Insane delta between vintage Movado chronographs and…whatever this is… PRmuseum?

·

This hurts. Movado used to be a marque producing quality watches. Then they had an abusive relationship (quartz crisis) and went full on alcoholic and never recovered. It's sad, but Movado today isn't Movado of yesteryear. I've stopped caring about the brand.

I absolutely agree. Most of us are lemmings to a degree (myself included). To safely-patronize a brand like Movado is much like buying a big tub of Great Value coffee.

What? They made a plastic one?

·

The black one looks really cool but €595,-.... that's a big no for me.

·

Especially when my @WatchCrunch feed inadvertantly provides the exact comparison required:

Oh, how the mighty hath fallen. JK. I didn't like them in their heyday. But they were better than this.

No, but I bet he's talking about the quartz movements they put in their PRX line.

·

Oy!

No, it isn’t.

·

Dafaq 😂

·

This is not good. The brand needs help.

·

I don’t know. If this was someone perhaps more reputable, I think people would be waxing lyrical about this “design”.

What? They made a plastic one?

No, the escapement in the entry level powermatic 80 used in the automatic PRX is plastic and therefore replaced rather than serviced

Not at all, just making folks aware.

Swatch know what they're doing, the plastic escapement is touted as self lubricating 🤔👍🏻

Ah, so that's what you mean. The movement is one of the main reason why I managed to keep my urge to buy PRX too.

·

The price is not right.

·

I like them, and I don’t get movado hate…

For everyone saying this isn’t good or acting like it is visually offensive, why? It’s a simple integrated watch with a riff on their “logo”.

How is this “embarrassing”?

·

So sad, their old watches are so awesome and gorgeous

·

Mines better
