GMT owners, what time is your GMT hand set on?

Do you have your GMT hand on local time? UTC? UTC with bezel, if it rotates, on something else? Something else altogether?

I can’t even vote on this because it’s all 3.

I typically have it set to GMT (my home country) but when I go back to London I set it to my current home country time.

However… if I’m working on a specific project with teams in the US or Asia I’ll set it to their time so I can quickly check if I can call or message them

My sister lives in Bangkok so I have it set to her time so I know when it's okay to call or text.

·

I set mine to Sydney time where I have relatives. It's fun to see the time difference so far away and makes me feel a little closer to them.

·

Hawaii time…always

·

My Glycine Airman is set to local time where I live, but I keep the 2nd time zone bezel tracking the time zone where a good pen pal of mine lives (7 hours difference)

·

Home time unless wife/kids are traveling then it’s on their time zone. Bezel for German colleagues, EPL, Le tour, etc.

·

I keep mine set to EST, I do a lot of business with NYC from LA.

·

I keep it set to EST, home time.

·

Have the hands on UTC with the bezel on Philippine time.

·

If you have 24hrs rotating bezel its easier to set it in UTC, when you wanna check other timezone (i.e bangkok GMT+7), align the 7 on the bezel to 12 hour marker and your in bangkok now

GMT set to local time for Liverpool #YNWA

·

Depends. All of them? Sometimes just set every hand to the same time, and then post it to see if anyone notices....🤪🫣🤘🏻🤙🏻

·

A traveler GMT is meant to be set to the home time so that the hands are set to the local time. The caller GMT is meant to be set to a second time zone that you are tracking. Obviously you can use these however you want.

·

Caller GMT: depends. I'll have collaborations going with people internationally, so I'll set to their timezone. It's easy to change without hacking the watch.

Flyer GMT: home time. Since the GMT hand can only be set by hacking the watch, I want it to be where I expect it to be when I travel. If there's a rotating bezel, I can use that to track other timezones when I'm at home.

·

The GMT hand is set on home time as the jumping hour hand is way more convenient to change and align with wherever I am.

·

Paris France

·

Wherever it happens to land when I'm not traveling. Otherwise, it's set to home time.

·

I live in the middle of the UK, my GMT hand is set to Maldives time to remind me of our favourite holiday destination 👌🏻👍🏻

·

At home I set my traveler GMT to home time and move the bezel to track a second time zone. When away, I hack the hour hand to local time and then move the bezel to reflect home (or wherever ) time.

·

GMT hand on Warsaw time as have a watch buddy there that I communicate with almost daily.

No but my heart is there. We've been there many times before but once the pandemic hit, that was taken away from us and we didn't know how much Hawaii was apart of my family's life. It was the first plane trip we took once the travel restrictions were lifted.

We're headed to Oahu and Kauai in October. Maybe one day we'll be able to retire there. 🙏

·

That’s awesome. Nice that it’s just flight away. Hope u get to retire there.

·

Netherlands because I want to move there someday

·

GMT is set to UTC for flight planning. Local hand is wherever local happens to be at the moment.

·

If I am using one of my watches with the quickset hour hand, then I set that to local time and the 24 hour hand is set to my home time zone.

If I use one of my watches with a quickset 24 hour hand, I set that to local time and the regular hour hand is set to my home time zone.

I don’t really have any reason to track the GMT time zone.

·

I was literally thinking about posting this sort of question last week. You beat me to it!

I bloody love a GMT and own several, so I actually keep differet ones on different times. For example I have one showing Singapore time, one shows Brisbane, one shows UK. Just depends on how i'm feeling.

I also mix it up depending on which one I might actually travel with, and which has a "caller" and which has a "traveller" movement.

·

Right now I set it to France because then when watching the tour de france I can have the benefit of the time of day there also.

This is also helpful for the Olympics world cups etc.

·

My GMT hand is set to Philippines time +8hr when I am in England because my wife lives there. And then it is set to England GMT time when I'm with her in the Philippines. I also use the rotating bezel to adjust for the local time in Qatar as it is my usual transfer flight stop-off.

I absolutely love GMT watches to keep me orientated in time at a glance no matter where I am 👌
