Probably because it looks like a Daniel Wellington. Here’s mine. Most compliments come from my partner and myself. 🤣

I can wear a gold vintage VC, a whimsical MrJones, a bright yellow Scurfa or a sunburst dial GO - nobody notices :)

Never had a compliment from a stranger, or someone who wasn't already into watches.

I wore my A700 to Times Square once and someone yelled out “IS THAT A CASIO?” I assumed it was some grifter targeting tourists, so I walked on without acknowledging.

Of course, a few minutes prior I was gawking at the DC/Marvel models on display at the Invicta store, so if I’d gotten swindled that day I would’ve deserved it.

Have yet to get a compliment on any watch I own from a non watch enthusiast.

It happened only once (with non-watch people). My friend said that I have a pretty watch. Although it's a pretty basic quartz, the level of finish is good and the sunburst dial is really beautiful in the sun.

I was in London for a short break and needed the bracelet on my explorer 2 adjusting so popped in the Rolex AD ,after getting the watch back had a chat about scurfa watches with the sales assistant,told him I had 2 ,he asked about the quality , definitely unexpected

I have some quite distinctive watches and can honestly say no one has ever commented on them unless I am already talking to a watch person.

Has to be my modded Orient Mako 2. Once I replaced the crystal with this blue AR coated double domed one it seemed to catch peoples gaze most often.

I have owned hundreds of watches over my many decades dabbling with mechanical timepieces, can offer an opinion: since most persons who bother to notice your watch or my watch will usually only comment on some item rudimentary, horologically boring, complicated or even flashy watches will not draw positive remarks. I have a Cartier Santos 100 fitted to black croco strap that I slip on for serious occasions but also including weddings and funerals, usually draws some compliments.
