The problem with the Omega Aqua Terra

My buddy got me started collecting watches. He bought a Hamilton, then I bought a Hamilton. He bought a Seiko then I bought a Seiko. He bought an Aqua Terra, then I bought a speedmaster…and an Oris, and a Longines, and a Ball, and a PRX, and another Seiko, and he hasn’t bought another watch. It’s basically perfect and it ruined him! He doesn’t need any more watches. WTF?

Damn the Aqua Terra!

That’s no fun…well at least you have like minded crazy people here 😀

·

I’ve said it before, if I got an Aqua Terra then I would be done.

I really don’t understand why many people claim AT is the perfect watch 🤣🤣. It’s just doesn’t work for me 😬

It specs out ideally (150m water resistance, 38 or 41mm) and is a sports/dress watch combo. Date at the 6, with good lume. No complication, but a jumping hour hand that works for travel. Interesting dial that isn’t over the top.

Oh, and that movement on the case back is exceptional viewing as well.

Just wanted to make sure I was first 😂.

I've got a buddy that went this route. Automatic Expedition for casual, Aqua terra for daily and a square face for the yard. He's done. ☠️☠️☠️

·

The new red one is amazing. I am not sure I will pull the trigger, but if they update the bracelet I will had over my credit card.

·

I like the AT. Don’t love it.

·

I'm a fan and would love to own one. It's in my queue. It's either this or the JLC Reverso. I get why some folks think it's the perfect watch. I can see how having it would stop my watch-buying disease, for a while anyway.

·

You need to choose your friends more carefully. Sounds like he's far too sensible. Put him on the Homer Simpson Program & before you know it he'll have snapped up a Bel Canto & be scratching his head.

·

The Aqua Terra is probably going to be my next watch, so I guess I’d de done then 🤔

·

Love my AT!

CAW! CAW!

·

I feel your pain it really can do any occasion and look fantastic. I had to sell mine so I could go back to wasting my money trying all the other watches needed to replace it 🤷‍♂️

I have that aqua terra too! Brings a smile to my face every time I wear it

·

Now buy a Rolex OP. Whoever manages to get it first. One tries at Bucherer, the other at Watches of Switzerland. Bribes are not allowed. The game is on.

Alternatively: whoever gets the new SwatchPain Fifty Fathoms with the golden Bloody Morgan seconds hand first. Protective gear is allowed, violence is not.

I routinely say if I had gone with the AT as my first purchase I would have been done too. Well, except for a dive watch maybe. But I adore my AT.

My favorite AT model! Love it on the mesh bracelet.

Having the OEM mesh bracelet and rubber strap really makes this a GADA watch for me.

·

I’ve owned my AT for 2.5 years now. It’s my most worn watch. On the OEM rubber, I don’t think there is a more versatile watch. Looks great with business casual, jeans, shorts, whatever. Do I wish my preferred colorway came in 38mm? Yes. But on my 6.7” wrist, the 41mm wears just fine. Those who think the watch is too thick haven’t worn it. I have 10mm thick watches that are 38mm and watches that are 46mm and 15mm thick. I can wear both. It’s like driving a new car. The first time you drive it, it’s an adjustment. But after that it becomes second nature.

I won’t call it the perfect Watch but they sure are beautiful

That’s a 41mm? It looks great!

The AT is a fantastic watch. I’m glad your friend found such a satisfying watch and I’m bummed for you! I hope you’re enjoying the Speedy and Ball, though!

I find myself looking at the 2500 series AT models from time to time. The 36mm with a black dial seems like a mean all arounder. I still appreciate the new ones but I find a lot of the current Omegas to be a bit too much from a polish and design perspective. Of the current Omegas, I would go 3861 Speedy Pro for sure.

·

It is confirmed with this post. The people of watch crunch are insane! 🤣🤣

The red dial Aqua Terra is a grail watch of mine. Honestly if I finally acquired it I would probably consider my collection complete as well.

·

Me and my OCD ascetics see the AT as having two flaws to my eye . A date complication and an arrow hand instead of a matching sword hand . THEN to me, the watch would be on my wrist already, oh wait then it’s an OP ??

Have owned the A-T. Should have kept it and sold everything else. Really is the ultimate GADA sports watch.
