We are surrounded by time. Phones, Cars navigation or digital, computers, Now even TVs show the time. So yes watches are Jewelry for man and women for 90% of the people. Which I personally prefer. There's a reason why Apple watches are the best selling watch year after year.

Back in the old days there were public clocks in most towns and on many businesses (including most banks). There were hourly tones on most television broadcasts and in most parts of the United States there was a telephone number that you could dial that would tell you the exact time (I think that it was Bulova). Clocks in cars have been ubiquitous since the 1940's.
Which is a long way to say that I agree with you. It has always been thus.

I’ve often referred my watch to non watch nerds as man jewellery. Love these cases but not sure if I’d wear it playing polo?

They are accessories/jewelry. Especially mechanical movements. Quartz/Digital/smart phones measure time more accurately.
We just like to pretend we still need them to “dive” or “go to the moon” or “pilot” a jet fighter (or climb Everest)

These watches are beautiful and definitely lean into the jewelry side AND WHY NOT! @JJMM1983 said it best. Watches are Toolry , Functional Jewelry... we can go on and yet I digress. These pieces are gorgeous. Admittedly they look amazing on your wrist . Worthy of the title elegant watch and Jewelry.
