Agreed! I think they give a sort of Calatrava vibe. Since I don’t realistically see myself acquiring a Patek, I’ll gladly support a microbrand with great designs instead.
You’ve inspired me to dig out my old Victorinox that I purchased in 1996 and wore as my only watch for 15 years until it was catastophrically damaged and “put away” as I couldn’t stomach throwing it away as it travelled the world with me and is attached to many memories. I’m pretty sure it’s going to cost much more than I paid for it to restore, but now plan to take it to a local watchmaker and see what it’ll take.
It also depends on how the movement has been adjusted. I haven’t unscrewed the crown of my BB58 since I bought it and initially set the time back in May. By resting the watch either dial up (+1 spd) or crown down (-.5 spd), I can “self-regulate” it to keep accurate time.
