The Best 45 to 50mm Divers: Can too Big be too Big?

As our watch collections go from Gents, watch to classic, sports models and the fun-sporty G-Shock and many others. One watch should always be the MEGA BIG, which is oversized for our wrists. What would your vote be? I have seen the Deepsea Challenge it's far too big. But the Frogman, the Seiko Tuna series even the Hublot Bigbang somehow meets the big statement but not too bad.

Your poll got me thinking. It is great to have that big watch to make a "fun" statement. I own a Deepsea it crosses the oversized but somehow I would love to try the Casio Frogman. But my deepsea still gets the vote.

I'd really like to add a Tuna to my collection some day. Probably the SBDX038 "Emperor Tuna".

All time favorites

The Invicta Grand Diver, at 47mm, is as big as I'll go with my 7" wrist. But hey, we all have our personal limits. I won't wear an Invicta Hydromax outside of my house.

·

if you’re thinking BIG , your list is missing a Panerai !

One word: Ploprof. No, it's not too big 😘

I don't think the Tuna is that bad on the wrist🤔 the Rolex however is just comedy sized

Got to go with the Seiko Tuna, even the 1000m Tuna wears very nicely on the wrist considering it is a 49.5mm case but the overall lug to lug is also 49.5 and the thickness mainly stems from the shroud. A 300m Tuna is definitely on my list of Seiko divers to add to the collection. The new poison dart G-Shock Frogman was quite nice in person if you are into colorful watches.

Rolex can dispose of the Deepsea where it belongs 😂

Dear god! That rolex is the perfect self defense weapon. Bigger then my first apartment jeeezzzz

·

Since I don't have wrists like Shaquille O'Neill, if I have to go big I'd go for Seiko's Tuna line. The other big watches feels like too much watch for me.

·

i've had a 41.5 mm watch with a lug to lug of 48mm and it was an utter pancake. I think a big oversized watch for me is 40.5mm))

I love g-shocks tho. I think that this watch is actually can't look "too big", because it's bigness is based on function completely.

How was the feel of the Rolex Challenge?

Much lighter than I expected it to be on the wrist, if it wasn't for the crazy thickness it would almost be wearable (but I do like a big watch)

Me too!!!

My baby Tuna is such a dream on wrist that a regular Tuna is my vote.

I do have a 56mm watch (currently with a broken stem) that I'd wear occasionally.

It is just over that line

Of course, didn't you see my review of the Invicta Hydromax? I have two of them, just for the collection.

I own the steel case version and love it, occasionally swapping it over to the bracelet (which makes it even heavier)!
