Been on a WatchCrunch detox
I took a little break from WatchCrunch. After more than two years on the forum I felt it was time for a little break, a vacation if you will. On Christmas eve I published my WRUW and it felt more like something that had to be done rather than joyful. Got me thinking for what? Another badge? Worries over breaking a streak? Whatever the reason I understood that this couldn’t be right so I decided it was time to take a break from the forum.
I started off slowly. I hanged around for a day without making any comments but acknowledged those who commented on my WRUW as a sign of appreciation. For one member that apparently didn’t land well. He removed his comment on the WRUW and also on a post published before that. Finally I logged out.
I never planned to leave permanently. Just to take away some activities that felt like mandatory obligations. To regain some inspiration. To hopefully interact with all you great people on the forum. You been missed.
I collect new as well as vintage. I have a weak spot for 50s and 60s Omegas. Besides from those I consider myself allround.

Sounds like a healthy move 👍🏻 I do the same with alcoholic beverages from time to time - when it starts to feel like a habit instead of an occasional indulgence I refrain from it for a while. Anyhows: welcome back!

Not a damn thing wrong with taking a break. Changing up the routine.
I learned long ago not to deep dive. As an IT professional and a life long tech person, social media was amazing and welcome when it began. Today, it is a very different animal entirely. I almost completely checked out of that Face Place.
Watch Crunch is, to me, a break from the toxicity so easily and often found online. But it is not wholly immune, either. And no matter the platform, if you feel what you felt.. go take a break. It's all good, friend. 👍

Yeah, once anything you do to relax or have fun with feels like a chore, it's time to take a break.

We tend to forget that real life is out there! When what we do here becomes and feels like an obligation then something is wrong! You chose wisely to take some time for yourself. I stopped doing WRUW when it had that burdensome feel. No desire for a badge and my shift work lifestyle means tracking days and nights gets screwy

Nice to have to back, I like your take on things and have enjoyed seeing your collection. That said, I understand the need for a break. Recently, whenever the posting rules change on the site, I’m thinking maybe it’s time for me to give it a rest for a while. Not quite there yet, and certainly appreciate the forum and the group. Hope the rest was refreshing!
