Looking for square / rectangular watches

Hey everyone! I'm back, because I'm addicted to these dang metal thingys around our wrists.

Been hunting for a square or rectangular for quite a while, and have tried the usual suspects and so far none have clicked with me, even owned an oris rectangular and it was almost perfect. So skip the most popular ones like tank, reverso, santos, oris, Tag, dolce vita, farer cushion, etc. And show me the more obscure ones!

Yes! I own one but I want more! More square watches, but I already own a Brew so I want to have different brands.

·

So, you tried the usual suspects....have you looked at a Zenith Respirator or Respirator X?

This is the first time, I have heard about the brand. I really liked the watches. Are they good and reliable?

Not a square and not a rectangle but I am considering this baby. The Longines Evidenza. 😊

I don't own one but I've been eyeing them off for a while and have heard mostly positive things.

These are a bit obscure, and are available to pre-order now...

I'm surprised nobody's stated the squarest of the square, Bell & Ross?

I really like the look of the Glashütte Original Seventies Panorama Date.

There's a chronograph version of this watch that's also pretty cool.

·

How about vintage?

Image
·

An excellent quality option (with admittedly questionable styling) is the Ebel la Caree

Image

If that is too ordinary how about the Upstream from Piaget

Nomos has outstanding quality and if you are looking for something a bit more unique it might be interesting to you.

Been wanting one of these for years now but I just can’t justify the price they demand 😩

Sold a few these in my AD days.

Interesting and attractive watch. What do the top two buttons do? I would have guessed something good related (stroke count?) but can’t see anything on the display that may be linked.

I GOT IT!!!

Not sure on your wrist size, but squares seem to obey different rules..

If you can get away with a more classical size, and you're going angular, you might as well embrace the vintage and go for something special..

Keep servicing in mind, but you can pick up small gold vintage squares from AP/Vacheron for $3-4k

This one is on Chrono24 now. Vacheron Constantin with Calibre K1001 ~ $2500

Downside is the 31mm but that's probably 40mm lug-to-lug..

With Geneva Seal..

That's beautiful, however I don't know much about vintage watches to comfortable buy one off a seller on Chrono24. But I would buy one from a reputable dealer that assures me everything is in order :)

Those buttons were thr clasp. It was integrated into the case.

Thanks for the reply and I just spotted my typo. I meant “golf related”

Only square watch I own. A very interesting quartz model (C1T I think?) from Bertucci (mostly known for their field watches). This one is titanium with fixed lugs. A grab and for going into the city on a night out.

Image

Here's an older C-1T (also titanium, with Swiss movement rather than the newer ones which have Japanese movement). Was just changing battery on it and got curious if anything was online about this watch. Didn't find that much, actually, but ran across this posting.

My GO seventies Panorama date. One of my favourites. If you can afford the chrono version it’s epic.

These are absolutely gorgeous watches. They are so well made, beautifully designed for my taste and the finishing on the movement is so good. Yes they’re expensive but for me the quality is up there with JLC. Plus the bracelet is superb and the in house straps are brilliant.

I take your point though it’s a lot of money and you can get some lovely watches in that price range.

Happy hunting!

I do love my Baume & Mercier Hampton Dual Time. Not a very common watch.

·

Really? Nobody said Monaco from Tag? Maybe Bell & Ross is a good option too

·

Casio dual time watch ⏳️ 👌
