Favorite Friday - Vol. 2, Lume Edition

I did a different version this post last week, not realizing it would make for a great series. Then a friend on Twitter did this for a different topic, named it 'Favorite Friday' and the light bulb clicked on. As I am a sucker for superfluous stylistic contrivances (alliteration), this series is now 'Favorite Friday'

So this week on #FavoriteFriday, show us all your watch with your favorite lume!

If you want to choose a watch you do not own, one you do own or both; go for it.

For me, my overall favorite lume is the Christopher Ward Moonglow.

Image

From my current collection, my favorite lume is the same as my favorite #divewatch, the Seiko SRPH77K1.

Great picture. It looks like a field of bioluminescent sunflowers on some alien world.

My favorite lume is probably the nice, clean, simple, strong lume of a nice classic diver like these.

The dive watch is probably gonna dominate this post as well. The Seiko is fantastic!

I think Ming have an outer ring that's striking. Atelier Wen's Perception has this (stolen from Time Tide)

Oh the Ming watches... YES!

Like you my favourite lume that I don’t own is the CW Moonglow. My favourites that I own are two of my British divers. My Clemence

And my Smiths Commander

Moonglow! 😍.

No CWs for me either. But it looks awesome

I also like when designs only appear in the dark:

The signums are supposed to slay at full lume ..but I’m always thinking that when dial and marker both have lume it’s actually LESS contrast, and perhaps not ideal as a high contrast between marker/ hand / dial increases legibility as things fade.

Image

What’s interesting to me as well: my Seikos beat my Swiss , easily.

But can Swiss superluminova outperform lumibright when there is more of it? Equal amount who wins?

Do my Seikos just have more volume than my Oris, Rado and Zodiac divers?

Experts pipe up here, I’m curious! 🧐

Well, I always post pix of Prospex LX, so need a few of those!

In the group pic - Prospex lx is always brightest and longest lasting , and over exposes the image (😂) even vs base Prospex models

Also would love to see the lumibright pro one of these days:

This Junghans has my favourite lume, but my Laco type B Flieger comes a very close second 👍

Wow, I don't think I've seen the minutes of the hour numbers lumed before. That's cool.

Same for the Flieger 👍

I’ve only got one watch that lumes well, all the rest are pretty lame.

Here comes the sun!

Excellent choice, mate! 💯 The SNXS7x line is simply stunning, and does have lovely lume. Which model number did you get?

I recommend you check out my simple post on possible bracelet and strap options for your SNXS7x watch, and other dark gray/ black dial watches. Congrats and enjoy! 🍻

Thanks. I got the snxs79. I was looking for bracelets so that link is bob on.

My only gripe is how thick the caseback is. I've had to swap it out to stop it sitting so proud on my wrist.

Cheers! Enjoy dressing it up in all sorts of bracelets and straps. 🍻 I have no prob with the bubble case back, as it harkens to the 70s and early 80s vibe.

There are much better lume potent watches than Seiko but I really like these shots of SRP777
