Deal of a lifetime on grail watch!!
Please bare with me, as I think this is a great watch story:
So I stopped in my local AD a little while back just browsing and to say hello (used to work there and fell in love with watches and became great friends with the watchmaker)
They were ending their partnership with Omega. So what they had left of Omegas were 40% OFF!!!!! I asked, “ I can seriously get a brand spanking new Omega for 40% off???” They said, yep! “We’re trying to move them and create space for other watch brands to come in” (Grand seiko) is one of the big ones coming in.
I tried this baby on and instantly fell in love with the gorgeous, iced-blue, ceramic and sunburst dial. It of course changes different shades of blue in particular lighting. This is one of the reasons why the Omega Seamaster 300m diver is my absolutely favorite design ever. The titanium bezel, and just the all around aesthetics of this one specifically. And yes, I love the helium escape valve. Will never use it, but the look is iconic, original, unique and brings a certain balance and ruggedness that I love. Thought I wanted the ceramic black dial and bezel version, as that’s usually my go-to type of color that goes with everything, but blue is my fav color and this just blew me away of how it looked on my wrist. And to be honest, since the omega SM300m is my favorite design, I can have any color or version, except for the green. Plus, they didn’t have the black. But I’m glad they didn’t, because I would’ve never found out how much I absolutely adore this one. It was meant to be.
Talked to the wife, who is pretty much over my intense love for watches (I’m sure I’m not alone here) and she even said, “wow, that’s a great deal to pass up.” Plus my wife loves a good deal/discount. I knew if any justification was going to win her over, it’d be this one.
Went and bought it three days later. Love this Beijing Winter Olympics edition. It’s unique, love the detail of the Olympic rings colors at 2,4,8,10,12. And it brings my two favorite things together: sports and watches! Plus, all the Olympic ring colors also symbolize personal and sentimental sports things for me. The colors of my high school basketball team, college I graduated from, and favorite local sports teams, college and pros. (Go Steelers!!) It originally came on the bracelet, but I wanted to make it more chill and laid back, similar to how I dress. This is my grail. I’m happy to commit to this watch and cherish it. What a freaking deal!!. Could not pass it up folks. Brand new, for 40% off. How insane is that? It only happens from being in the right place, at the right time, with the circumstance of an AD trying to get rid of them. WOW.

Hahaha so sorry my friend. I’m just now beginning to be more active on here (love WatchCrunch) and certainly wish I mentioned it earlier. I got the watch a few weeks ago and then just been busy with my family this time of the year.

Wow, 40% off retail, reminds me of the 80s lol. I actually feel these Olympics Omegas are a little more interesting to own, somewhat interested in the gold bezel Paris iteration that I have been reading about. Congrats on your special watch.

The bezel is killer. I absolutely love it, and how it blends in with the case, giving it a nice contrast with the beautiful ceramic dial
