How can I stop being addicted to the HUNT?????

Is there anyone out there who enjoys owning what they have, and enjoy their collection to a T, but then someway, somehow get pulled back into hunting for the next watch. I’ve tried everything to stop. It’s just so hard, but I want peace from the everlasting desire of wanting to hunt down the next awesome watch! I want to be content with my collection of 16 watches. I want to be able to enjoy what I have, and then unexpectedly run into a watch I may want to own. I can’t be the only one.. Crunchers, you out there? Am I the only one? And if you’ve figured out the cure, what is it?! I know this has been posted many times, but I needed to make one of my own to get help from the best community ever.

There probably needs to be a 12-step program for all of us, for sure. "Hi, I'm Mark and I'm a watchoholic." 😂

Try just taking time to pull out a few of your watches every week, look at them with fresh eyes and connect with the feelings made you desire and enjoy what you already own.

The good news is: you're not alone! Bought a watch every single month since I got into this hobby eight months ago. Ninth is on its way...and now that the watch box is full, i sincerely believe i can put off a next purchase for at least, say, three months! But I'll prove myself wrong probably...so there's the bad news: no known cure 😂 So just embrace it I guess 🙃

Two ways I can think of:

- limit your collection to a number and work on the basis of one in / one out, so each new watch would need to be "better" than one of your existing watches

- remove temptation by leaving social media groups, Instagram feeds, YouTube follows etc.

Or just keep give in and keep collecting like the rest of us😉

I think one of the biggest issues with "the hunt" is constantly consuming watch content. The more often you jump into a reviews for a new or improved version of a watch, the more likely you are to want the new watch.

If you were trying to cut back on drinking you wouldn't watch constant beer reviews and ads, so why do it with watches?

I stopped and lost count after 86 plus watches. When I finished mirror imaging my higher end watch collection I stopped buying watches. Therefore, I did have a goal in place. However, I also stopped YouTube searching and deactivated ALL my social media. Watch Crunch is the only media I have in regards to watches. The itch had been fulfilled 🍻👊🏽 Good luck my friend 🙏🏽

Great to not be alone! And yeah, I don’t think there’s a cure. Let’s just all support each other in our addiction. “We will get thru this” 😂

Hahahahaha so many ppl have told me that. Because I have a mortgage, wife and child. If it weren’t for that, it’d be over 😂😂. I’d have 90

I haven’t had social media for 5 years. Now, YouTube, I use for other things, but a watch video creeps in every now and then. Maybe I just have to chalk it up and rid of that entirely haha

I’ve limited my collection to each number up to the amount I have (16). Which appear to be rookie numbers 🤣🤣. I gotta get ride of YouTube. But I’ll never stop collecting I feel like. I’m screwed 😂

During the pandemic I watched ZERO watch reviews and stopped looking at watches COMPLETELY. My thought process was there's more important things in life than hunting for the next watch. The HUNT for survival kicked up a notch and geared up to survive Rona aka CORONAVIRUS. 🤣😂😆
