Drawn to the nostalgia of a veteran military watch, and connect it to a modern aesthetic. The story that emerges can be a powerful reminder of the importance of honoring a timeless tradition, while also creating something new and relevant for today's world. Invoke an emotional response to the timelessness of a vintage design, while still delivering the convenience and luxury of a contemporary product.

To conclude my expand on modern iterations of Vietnam War Era watches.

I'm glad to have had the opportunity of learning more about Vietnam War watches. It's remarkable how pieces from a bygone era can tell such an amazing story โ€“ not just through its design but also in its connection with history and culture. From military service members in combat, divers on covert missions to political dignitaries who were there during that time; all of them experienced something extraordinary while wearing these timepieces which has now been passed down as part of our shared heritage for generations to come! As someone passionate about horology, this knowledge has opened my eyes up into another world where elegant craftsmanship is intertwined with patriotism and rich cultural debates.

To think that these time artifacts are still around today makes me appreciate even further what they used to represent then - bravery, hope justice & freedom.. no matter what it took back then or will require in times moving forward

I look forward to hearing from everyone and engaging in opened conversations and comments that is part of this collection topic!

Indeed, salutes to those who have served! These watches truly capture the essence of a bygone era and serve as a touching reminder of the sacrifices made. As for the watches that will be posted 50 years from now, it's hard to predict with certainty. However, we can anticipate that technology will continue to shape the watch industry. We might see futuristic smartwatches that seamlessly integrate with our daily lives, offering functionalities we can't even imagine today.

At the same time, there will likely be a continued appreciation for vintage watches, as they hold a timeless appeal and historical significance. It will be fascinating to witness the evolution of timepieces in the coming years!

I was thinking G-Shocks, Timex Ironman, Suunto, and such for future watches

I really like a theme in a collection. One brand, only divers, military or vintage pie-pan dials. I wish I had that kind of focus. I love the purpose and passion behind it. I appreciate you collection and choice of collecting. I hope for your continuing success. Thank you for honoring those whoโ€™ve served.

All things considered, the Marathon Steel Navigator is probably the best modern take on the assymetric case.

Hi-drive, anti-shock, user replaceable quartz, tritium, and incredibly useful daily bezel.

ยท

Very nice! I've done a similar collection, adding an equal amount of vintage to the new.

Timex Ironman, G-Shock (DW5500/6900 non negative LCDs), Suunto Vector, Casio Protrek, Marathon GPM/Nav(both steel and ceramic options)/GSAR, CWC SBS/GS Sapphire and a few Garmins for the actual issued stuff.

Some shout-outs to a few specialty variants of Citizen for Blue Angels/Thunderbirds issued pieces.

Also very rare, unit only, pieces from Sangin and Tudor.

Casio F-91W, and whatever is the largest, subtle colored G Shock with a negative display for personally used/bought items.

It's a project, but certainly one you could build out from where you are at now.

That must have been incredibly meaningful for you and your dad. ๐Ÿ™ Wearing such a timeless piece in combat is not only visually striking but also sentimental, especially being able to share it with him as part of his memories from serving our country so proudly. Salute and thank you for sharing. We all owe them an immense amount of gratitude!
