Come on, we can admit it . . .

I know we wear these trinkets on our wrists "for ourselves" and mostly don't care what others think, but sometimes, especially when covered with a cuff, like mine are most days in a suit, I want someone to, if not think they are as awesome as I do, at least notice them.

But I like my rocket ship underpants!

·

You just gotta hope there’s an enthusiast out there, and make sure your cuff “accidentally” slips up your arm every once in a while

·

Just walk around in a shady neighbourhood ;-)

·

You make a very valid point my friend I definitely don’t care too much if no one notices my watches at all, however, the few times people have made comments on my watch very pleasant and nice to know that normal people actually notice, but nothing can beat going to the WatchCrunch meet up And showing members of the community my WatchCrunch inspired mod

·

My rocketship underpants are for me to enjoy (but I don't mind posting them on underpants enthusiast forums).

·

My boss is a watch enthusiast, who does notice what I'm wearing from time-to-time ... usually to ask what it is I'm wearing? But he wears Rolex or Omega, so when my usual response is Timex or Casio, he seems to lose interest! LOL!! 😉

·

Like Elon, Bezos, and Branson, I make sure my rocketship gets seen from orbit.🤣

·

I’ve come to realise that watch people are like motorbike people, I’m both. With bikes it doesn’t matter what or where you ride, no one cares or even gives your latest Ducati monster a glance, but bump into another biker and you can chat for hours , just about the aftermarket exhaust. Same with watches, no one cares and if they do notice your wearing a watch they say “ why do you wear a watch , youve got a mobile phone “ and look at you funny. I’m just content to get on with the things I like and sod the heathens ; )

·

I rarely run into other watch people. Almost never. So yes it is for me.

·

I just want someone to be as excited about the useless shiny trinket as I am….

·

I have never been approached by another collector about my watch. A few times while standing in a check out line (que) I have noticed a few stares of approval. So I will take it as a win👍🏾

Me when I am around other people

I am only interested in my watches when I am home. Oddly when I step out I do tend to notice the watches that others are wearing but almost forget that I am wearing one.

·

No one even comments when I wear this, and I need to take it off if I decide to put my work coat on/off. You can't miss that so clearly no one cares.

My boss is kind of the same way. He does ask me about the cheaper watches that I wear. He tells me all of the time that he wishes he could have a hobby like mine. He has really expensive taste. To wear something cheap his ocd would cause his head to explode. He likes the cheap watches but won't wear one. He has 3 different colored Skydwellers, some custom made ones from Jacob and he wears a diamond encrusted Breitling most of the time.

Last month I got to tour the White House on a trip to DC, and prior to going in you have to go through security (of course) and I had a first for two things:

  • The lead security agent not only asked my if I was wearing an SMP (I was), he noticed I had a different/aftermarket bracelet on it. We had a very brief but complimentary exchange but my wife could see it made my day.

  • As I was retrieving the contents of my pockets from the x-ray machine, another agent stopped to compliment and ask me about my camera (Fuji x100v). Again, first time that’s ever happened.

All I will say, the president’s house has got some good people on staff!

·

I wear t-shirts in the dead of winter so people notice my watches. Problem solved. Comfort sold separately.

·

While i don't get out of my way to get my watches noticed, and 99% of the time nobody does, it is a great feeling getting complemented and especially great if they are watch enthusiasts themselves- instant best friends

·

I sometimes show strangers my voluptuous navel…especially when it may be nesting some lint. So why wouldn’t I want to raise my shirt cuff for the masses to gawk at what’s hiding underneath?

·

Because it makes ME happy.

·

Rocketship underpants.

That’s what she said. 😳🤣

·

Recently I’ve had a few people comment on my Reverso. I immediately thought they’re a collector as no one, other than a collector would be able to identify it. One person even said/pronounced #jaegerlecoultre correctly. We ended up chatting watches for about 10 mins.

Maybe they are secret agent, if your answer is wrong, you got to see other place

·

Like all other hobbies, only watch nerds notice about other people watch, most of my friends and colleagues have no idea that which watch that i am wearing 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe they may know something like Rolex, AP, PP because of their expensive but i dont have those 🤣🤣🤣

·

What really cracks me up is when I wear a banger, Rolex Hulk/Omega SeaMaster Chrono/Tudor 1926 Diamond dial….no one cares or notices. I wear a custom Seiko or a Ciga Titanium (micro brand) and everyone asks how much it’s worth or where did I get it. Seriously cracks me up😋

·

I’ve always been upfront and brutally honest about my hobbies, watches included. I like and want people to notice them. I don’t just wear it for them but I don’t get haircuts to save on shampoo either.

·

ALWAYS !!

As a motorcyclist m'self, I totally get where you're comin' from and agree 100%! 👍 👍

Believe it or not, I don't actually enjoy talking about watches with strangers. My enthusiasm with others is exclusive to the virtual space. Outside of that, I prefer to keep this thing to myself.
