Come on, we can admit it . . .

I know we wear these trinkets on our wrists "for ourselves" and mostly don't care what others think, but sometimes, especially when covered with a cuf...

Finally got the Murph!

Admired this watch for a while. Gift from the family. It fits perfect on my 7.25 inch wrist - but I also like them bigger. Always loved the clean (no...

Which silver dress watch?

Ok, so I said I wouldn't do this cuz I'm decisive and know what I want and I like to research if i don't know and isn't all just a matter of personal taste, really? But, here I am with a "which watch...

Thanks. I finally did see that San Martin makes rubber straps for this model, but I was hoping to find one with a deployant clasp. Interesting that ones made for the Moonswatch fit this one - I also have one and was thinking of getting a rubber strap for it. Nice to know it can do double duty.

Nice. Just got this San Martin (but with a sterile dial so I can do my own logo...) What rubber strap is this? Looks like a perfect fit to the lugs.

If homage watches don't bother you, San Martin does great work with personalized dials. I ordered 3 last year before they stopped doing it for single orders - now it must be for 20 or more pieces. They were very responsive and the dials look great and their watch quality is suprising for the price. https://sanmartinwatches.com/shop/accessories/custom-logo-cost/

I'm not crazy about GMTs, but your combat sub looks great. I've got two myself, one a bronze that came with a rubber strap. But it goes great with several fabric straps and just got an Artem sailcloth for it - dresses it up. Try getting some single-pass Chevrons from Crown & Buckle (more substantial than the typical NATO straps) or leather or sailcloth. Great way to reinvigorate a once-boring watch.

GMTs (no use for them, so would probably just confuse me when I glance at the time) and LCD digital on any part of the dial (sorry, not a G-Shock fan).

Yes, I've been there - looking at a certain watch, not ready to pull the trigger, then its gone when you are ready. If you can hold out on the black dial, I would imagine there are collectors that may be moving it in and out of their collection. Also check out Chrono24 - a couple of listings for it, but also twice Ashford's price. Or, you may just want to get the blue dial until its available again. Based on ebay and Chrono24, I don't think you'll lose much money at all selling the blue one later once you find what you want.

I have the blue dial version of this watch (GL0416) and got it and two others from Ashford - a Hamilton KFA and another Combat Sub. Good experience with all orders. It is available now on Gnomon, but at almost twice the price as Ashford. (https://www.gnomonwatches.com/products/combat-sub-42-vintage-bi-color-ref-gl0259) I would just set an eBay search alert and go back to Ashford every few days - it may pop back up soon there. Can't go wrong with a Combat Sub and lots of color combinations.
