CW , Sinn pricing is hard to look past these days IMHO.

With Ebays new authentification scheme (if your purchase falls under this), returning a watch unless the seller accepts returns won't be possible.

Part of the deal is that the advert is checked so it is accurate in terms of condition and function of the watch.

This protects the buyer but also protects the seller from try before you buy or buyers remorse.

Which is why I used it to sell a watch.

Very good read 👌

I believe we have seen massive innovation in the watch space but it comes in the form of the smart watch.

There is no need for the lux brands to push innovations as no one is buying these really for the designed purpose anymore. (Watch nerds posting pics of them "using thier tools" doesn't count) Astronauts wear casio , explorers wear a Garmin etc...these days.

So the lux industry is doing what it does best , making their products more lux by simply increasing the price as that is all they need to do.

The watch industry is on its ass , you can see this with your own eyes with AD's being ghost shops and inventory collecting dust.

Do not try and build any sort of relationship with a retail outlet in the hope you are going to jump some precieved list.

In the past when the term was used it was mutually beneficial like getting better deals etc.. I.e rewarding good customers.

Now it's been warped and used to hoodwink the gullable.

If it is hinted in an AD that other purchases are required , politely walk out the door as they have several of that model you want out the back.

This whole hobby if you can even call it that is about validation. Its a "look what I got" hobby and little more.

I am not sure why we all pretend it's something different really.

commented on Is this even a fair comparison? ·

No it's not worth twice the price , but is the Longines worth twice price of some other watches ? Again no.

All of these watches can be replicated for buttons whatever the brand , the price is based purely on brand prestige. Tudor is the more prestigious brand in today's market so it costs more.
