Is this even a fair comparison?

I've tried both of them on. The bb41 is amazing of course with it 5 link t-fit clasp and in house movement. But is it worth the 2x price? I'll let you decide. One thing the bb41 doesn't have is that amazing green option that the conquest has. Absolutely stunning!

Cost VS reason. I think the more expensive may be a passion purchase for many. Your point is valid.

Are those sizes in the images relative?

They're both 41mm but I forgot the bb41 does come in a more variety of sizes. 31, 36, 39, and 41 while the conquest comes in only 34 and 41.

There’s something for me that just doesn’t look right about the circular indices on the Tudor. Not sure why, but it just doesn’t fit the watch styling. I think I’d be very seriously considering that watch if it had stick style indices like the Longines.

Exactly 👍

I am not a fan of the snowflake hands. Round indicies do not look good with the square snowflake. That is one thing they got right right with these Pelagos is square indicies and hands.

·

Both look great; however, is it wrong to expect some beveled edges on the Conquest case?

·

I think the better comparison would be the recently discontinued ETA 41 to the Longines, closer movements (2824 vs 2892), not entirely dissimilar bracelet, etc.

I like Longines, but do not really care for this model. Is the better bracelet, clasp, (yes) better movement, and no date worth the premium for the Tudor? To me no, simply because the old one exists for <$2k.

Can I present an alternative I would have over both? Like the Longines, 2892 based movement, amazing bracelet, quick adjust clasp, better water resistance, in a slightly smaller package, for a couple hundred less? Heck if you shop preowned, can grab one less than $1200.

Excellent choice especially for those who prefer the smaller case

·

The Longines looks significantly more classy. Whereas the BB looks like a dive watch without a dive bezel.

I prefer the Longines to the Tudor and agree that the Monta would be a excellent alternative. I also think that the Formex Essence is worth considering.

One is an ugly Tudor and the other is a Longines.

So no: definitely not a fair comparison to put a Longines up against an atrocity.

·

I have the 39 Tudor BB and it is incredible.

BB41 has a new in-house COSC movement and an arguably better bracelet - but no, not objectively worth twice the Longines. IMO Longines and Tudor are peer brands, however Tudor is pricing themselves upwards with the inclusion of in-house Metas and COSC movements in all models. So, is Tudor positioning itself with differentiators to justify their pricing with tech and brand cache - leaving Longines behind? Arguably yes.

I would argue Monta Noble is better in all regards but brand cache than Longines Conquest.

·

If the bracelet and clasp are really that amazing, then the Tudor would be worth the extra $$

·

Bb39 in anthracite.

·

For me, it would be the Longines over the Tudor all day, every day.

·

Its Longines and it is not even close! but be careful with Longines... you buy one and suddenly you will be hit by the bug and before yu know it you are down the 13ZN rabbit hole and looking at all the masterpieces they release every year!

as you can tell i am talking from experience..... so much so that my wife and I have a his and hers Longines!

·

Between the two, I would take the Longines every day of the week and twice on Sunday - that green is stunning!!

·

I think this Longines Conquest line is a stunner. Both dressy and sporty to me and the colors really impress. I also appreciate the art deco sector type dials that pay homage to their 50s/60s conquests like this one.

Image
·

The tudor may be objectively better, but I like the way the longine looks more

·

Honestly, I would pick the longines to tudor since the dial is more appropriate to the case and bracelet. The tudor dial is way to rugged for the dress sport watch but looks great in the dive watch since it intended for high legibility.

·

The longines would be the one for me and yes in the green stunning 😍

·

You can also get a Tissot gentlemen in half the Longines and omega Aqua Tera at twice the Tudor 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s because it looks like a dive watch that has had the rotating bezel removed.

·

For me? Absolutely worth the price premium.

·

I have this Longines in black and it’s a beauty, but that also means I’m biased 😄

·

Hello, nice watches.

Here is my 2 cents.

Watches are expensive for all of us since we each have our own individual price brackets that we shop into. I think you have already decided that you want the Tudor and the Longines is the closest substitute you could find for the Tudor. I remember what popped into my head when my BB 58 was delivered to my home. I am never going to buy a watch into that price point again because it is stupid. Today, I have 3 Tudor in my collection of 14 watches and many times it is that BB 58 that comes out of the box (or the BB Pro). I appreciate more the quality of Tudor than when I bought initially and I feel different about them than my initial reaction when it was delivered. Deep down you already know the answer to your question and follow it if this is not something is going to create a financial problem for you. If it is, just wait a little longer when it is ok to purchase.

·

I’m a Tudor fanboi and I like this one - but I somehow feel it lacks the elegance of the Longines. The blobby diver indices look great with a big black bezel - but in this format…?

I think I’d save the cash and buy the longines

·

Love longine my entire colection is longine
