Hodinkee was awesome pre 2019. It felt like a community and there was great content that was enthusiast focused and had no commercial angle. They used to do a weekly article called Bring a Loupe which was a round up of interesting vintage watches for sale on eBay and watch forums. Hodinkee peaked for me around their 10th anniversary when the had a weekend long event of panel discussions that was live-streamed on YouTube. After that everything got more and more commercial with nearly every piece of content focused on making a sale of some sort. I still read some articles from time to time, and some of it is still all right, but on the whole I’ve moved on…
