What else do you collect?

Theory: People who collect watches are very likeley to collect other things. Above is one of my vintage Schwinn stingrays. Its a 5 speed. What else do you collect, pictures if you have any. Cheers!

I’ve talked about it before but guitars. More so than watches. But buying and selling. I’ve had so many guitars over the years. I’ve kinda lost count. The hunt is the best part.

Those were the days my friend, I wished they never end…….

·

I only collect these for my Grandson you understand 😎

The Stingray was the holy grail of bikes. Very cool.

Art. Watches come a distant second.

Aside from watches… violins it seems. I’m a violinist and I also do quite a bit of instrument repair.

The violins aren’t an intentional collection though.

I also collect knives and fountain pens.

I’m a certified bmw problem collector also. 😂

·

Apparently, i also collect Parker Jotter pens... Sad but true. I've got pens dating back to the 60s. This photo is just of the ones that see action 🙄

Very cool, love them! Think of all the things they where used to make!

Guitars here…been a player since I was a kid and have 10x more $ tied up in instruments than watches. I’ve gigged, recorded albums (nothing of note), played in pit orchestras, and still teach once a week. Watches are great but a distant second to my guitars lol

·

Board games. But I don't really so much "collect" them as buy them in order to play them, it's just that incidentally they have developed into a collection.

·

Over the years, I have collected so much stuff but always loved the beauty of glass, one morning my wife wanted a few potted plants to brighten our home, wandered into a neighbourhood florist, noticed some hand blown glass from an artist who had his studio next to the shop. These are just a few from a artist originally from the States, they are quite heavy so we have them scattered here and there. When Rolex Canada built a head office here in Toronto, I noticed a few of Toan’s works in the reception area, apparently some designer sourced the art work for Rolex and charged a premium for the curated pieces. Nice to know that Rolex sometimes pays extra, lol. The artist had no idea his signature “Catfish” was in the Rolex building.

Not so much any more but Nascar die-cast was a side business for a few years back in the 90's. Still have a few boxes of ol Earnhardt and Gordon. Have more knives then I know what to do with and finally my Zippos. I'm a sucker for a classic or logo Zippos!!

Pint glasses, borrowed from the pub 😁

You’re right. Most of us are into other things.

Watch guys are somewhere in the back, just outta sight.

·

I used to collect LPs and guitar pedals. Now that I'm happy with my current guitar rig and realised how pointless vinyl collecting is, I'm into headphones.

We've definitely done this topic before...

But always fun to do it again...

Are those soviet guitars in the front? Looks like it

Cameras, especially vintage

I try to avoid collecting things these days, that includes new watches. However, as someone with a DIY problem I feel like I collect Projects.

Actually they are not. They are the Hallmark reissues by Bob Shade who acquired the rights to the Hallmark brand and its designs. Bob is based in Maryland. I believe Hallmark was originally located in central California by Joe Hall who was part of the Semie Moseley group of guitar makers based there in the Bakersfield area serving the California country & western groups.

Hall came up with these wild designs and had very limited production. Bob has brought the designs back to life and done a really nice job on them.

The creepy green and black was a special issue for the garage rock band The Hexxers.

Besides watches, I have a small collection of fountain pens, and a larger collection of pocket knives.

Actually watches are more of my son’s thing, but I’m a collector/hoarder by nature, so he’s gotten me into it. I collect guitars (been playing 40+ years), I’ve got a lifetime’s worth of 45s, 78s and albums, and 50s R&B, soul and funk are my favorite genres. Also old pocketknives, handmade pottery, depression glass and old china (thanks mom lol), sports cards and antique bottles. Those are the main things, anyway haha
