I Just Wanted a Watch

A watch. Singular.

And yet somehow I find myself here.

A very clean dozen.

And yet...

When I wear one, there is an empty space in the box.

Obviously, I need just one more so when one is on my wrist, the box is still full.

That logic is irrefutable, no?

You might need one more on top of that, in case you decide to double wrist one day. Then there would be another empty spot in the box 🫢

Dang you might be right...

Seriously, I tried that once. Feels too weird on my right wrist. No Schwartzkoffing for me.

I had the same problem, I now have 3 watch boxes with a spare space...

The logic we come up with to get a new watch

·

Looks like you could use another diver!! LOL

·

And it looks like it needs to be a flieger to complete things … 😉

·

Hmm, yeah--need a flieger in there, especially since the Laco didn't work out for you...and then probably at least one good fumé dial? So we're on to the 2nd watch box, which will be looking really depressingly empty unless you GET A MOVE ON.

·

You obviously have room for one, maybe two, lying horisontal between the two rows. And of course the emty slot for the one on your wrist. Buy on👍

·

Correct me if I’m wrong, you have two wrists….😂

·

I realised my boxes were approaching full so I moved the cheap ones (for garden/DIY use) into my strap organiser. Then I bought this stand so at night I can quickly take my watch off without needing to fuss with the box. I can be lazy for 4 nights at a time. Surprisingly I have several empty slots now.

Getting the first watch box was the worst acquisition of all for this hobby. My whole wrist/life revolves around those slots, whether they’re empty or full.

·

Do you already have something like a watch-case or watch-roll? Helpful for travelling and 2-3 more slots.

·

You've wonderful taste.

·

I appreciate the way you arranged the watches. e.g: First row is all Casio.

·

But when you are not wearing any, you would have no more space then. Better buy one more box with some space?

Creativity needs parameters. 12+1 is my self-imposed limit.

Thanks. The second row is much trickier to arrange just so.

Baker’s dozen…with a delicious maple bar thrown in.

I happens to the best of us.

·

Makes perfect sense!

I think everyone starts out thinking they just need a watch, maybe two, to have to tell time. “Adults and mature folks wear watches, and I’m not a kid anymore so I need a watch!” For some people, that one watch is probably all they’ll ever have and move on to using their cell phone to tell time. Heck, they may even get to the point where telling time is irrelevant to their lifestyle. For others, that first watch opens their eyes to a world of collecting, always seeking that one watch that scratches an itch like no other. Most of us realize there will never be that one watch to top them all. It’s a lifelong pursuit.

·

I think you need another Casio.

·

I bought an apache case once my 2 other 6 slot boxes got filled. I have like 12 more slots in that I think.

·

Your starting to fully tumble down the rabbit hole now , we will say high to you in freefall as we all are 😂 also tumbling with you 😂

·

Nice collection 🙂👍

Who didnt start with one... and end up with two dozens or so? I guess it just adds up over the years....
