Uncle Straps SNA411 Flightmaster President Bracelet Review

My Seiko Flightmaster was my first HADTOHAVE watch, but the 21mm lug width has always made it difficult to find just the right strap/bracelet/whatever for it.

The stock bracelet was a blingy hair-puller and left the watch pretty quickly.

I've had the de rigueur green-with-yellow-stripe Marine Nationale but so does everyone else and it comes loose during the day.

I've had a nice black sailcloth for it, but it looked pretty severe and was hot as summer encroached.

So when @GullibleAndroid posted that Uncle Straps now made nice bracelets for the Flightmaster, I jumped at it. Thanks again, Andrew!

They offer a President and an Oyster, and as I already have Oysters on other watches, I went with the President.

I really like this. It's attractive, lightweight (for a bracelet with solid end links), and fits very comfortably.

It was a little tricky to install - Uncle Straps includes two different sizes of springbars and I was unable to get it to line up with the thicker bars provided. But it was fairly simple with the smaller bars and they feel secure.

If you look VERY closely you can see there is a minor gap along the case curve but the end links line up beautifully with the lug curves:

Note to the big wristed: my wrist is just under 7.75" and I did not need to remove any links to size this strap - just moved to the third micro-adjustment hole. So if you have larger wrists you should probably order extra links. I usually have to remove 2-3 links from bracelets, but not this one. It's like they sized it for me.

Also note it only has three micro-adjustment holes but a fourth would pretty much be the same as another link, at least with this President:

The bracelet has a very nice milled clasp with two buttons on the sides and a flip-over added lever. A good bit more secure than the "'70s Speedy" Uncle Straps I have on my Pagani Speedmaster homage:

For the small wristed, here's a shot of the folded clasp - it extends two links past the clasp, making a flat spot against your wrist. Not a problem for me, but it might impact your comfort.

On a similar note, the end links are male, so the strap won't drop straight down on the sides for the small wristed, but given the silly small lug-to-lug dimensions of the Flightmaster I doubt this will be an issue for many.

The price at the time of writing is $89 and delivery was fast.

I'm extremely pleased. One of my favorite watches is now much more wearable.

The khaki green with a yellow stripe MN style strap was the first alternative that I tried for the SNA411. It's a nice fit and, at least with the Erika's Original version also very comfortable to wear (I do have the NDC strap too but Erika's is better IMO), but as you commented, it does send the Flightmaster straight into generica country.

I never thought of getting the SNA back on a bracelet, maybe I will now that there are better options from Uncle Seiko.
