i only got two GADA watches, a Seiko Alpinist SARB015 and Tudor DateJust. I have to say they tend to do good when i just need to wear 1 watch for a short trip ๐

The alpinist is special. I have the green dial and I really miss wearing it if I go too long.
You're like me, man! You want a watch that you only wear when you're eating shrimp ceviche. And then you gotta have an octopus ceviche watch. GADA is for those weirdos who only have a "1 watch collection." ๐คฃ

Max's comments almost exactly mirror my own. This is a 'nothing' watch - neither fish, nor fowl. It looked fascinating in pictures but on my wrist it was just soulless and dull.
Like most Tudors in my experience they are seemingly designed to be as safe and inoffensive as possible, to appeal to as many as possible, and to me that just leaves them somewhat bland.
Great watches for people who lust after a Volkswagen
Hate this watch, damn near hate the brand. Taking air-time and attention from far more deserving companies. The video even says "the side profile resembles the rolex oyster" as does the dial furniture, bracelet and more.... just copy/paste and here come the wows'
Todor makes a cool FDX and Pelagos (not the 39mm)... but it's basically an homage brand.
I plan on making this my one and only watch (except one backup). Then it will be truly a GADA piece.
About the new one, I like the T-fit and the comfort a more rounded case will provide. I like the look of some of the dials. But I'm not fancy enough for the newer more luxurious look. It looks more like an OP and the original plainbezel BB has some more Explorer and other "masculine" Rolex traits.
I think the new BB36 would look very small and ladylike on me while the crowntube, slabsides and so on gives the old BB36 real prescense in a non-blingy way.
Also, I think I prefer the ETA over "in-house".
Just my thoughts ๐
Tried on the 36 in an AD yesterday and I have just over a 7inch wrist. It wears much bigger and has great presence IMO but thatโs just me
Yes I totally want a GADA watch. I have one already, or at least I treated it as a GADA before I even knew what a GADA was. Itโs my GMT Master 2, Kiwi edition. For 15 years I wore it almost daily. With shorts and a t-shirt, to the gym, on many trips and vacations, to weddings and black and tie affairs. On the bracelet that โtoolโ watch feels at home with a suit and tie.
The watches before, some decent watches (Tag Heuer Chronographs, Hamilton Khaki field) and the watches that came after saw minimal time on the wrist, a day or two and then the olโ GMT was back on the wrist. I scoff at the 1 month challenge, there may have been years that I didnโt change my watch.
That ended when I bought my Tudor GMT. I think I wore that for 6 months straight, then went on a Seiko Diver obsession. Now itโs on rotation with the SPB 187, the Presage GMT and the Tudor GMT. Occasionally I will wear one of the other 12 watches for a day or so, then back to the rotation.
In the past couple weeks Iโve waffled with the idea of downsizing, not to the ridiculous โ1 watch collectionโ. Watches that havenโt seen the light of day are gone, maybe down to 5. I would like to add a GADA, and my idea of a GADA are these 3 watches
Omega Seamaster AT 38 mm (blue or white teak dial)
Tudor 36mm/OP 36mm
Tag Heuer 36 (Silver, Green, Blue dial)
GS (Elegance Spring Drive)
OP 36 and the TAG are at the top of the list, right below is the Omega.
Iโll be done ๐ after I get one of these
Oh and a Seiko Alpinist (green or grey dial)
Oh and if I happen to see a Seiko Presage with the Irish Coffee, dial. Iโd be very hard pressed to pass that up.
I thought all my watches are GADA watches. Ok maybe not the few that arenโt waterproof. I mean I buy them to wear anywhere and anytime. I buy them for me, because I like them. I donโt carry an extra watch in my pocket just encase the one on my wrist doesnโt feel right or look right to anyone else. All I know is I Gada get another one!
Hmmm, I guess a true GADA must be any G-Shock as I have climbed mountains, swam with sharks in coral reefs, explored jungles, and worn them to work. So, yeah, the G wins GADA for me.
Great video! I love new Tudors, especially Black Bay 36/39/41 in blue on the jubilee. Gorgeous! The problem is that I also love so many other watches! So hard to nail down just one watch for a GADA watch, especially with so many options! I love my Speedy but itโs not a great GADA watch, so I need something to complement that. Im torn between the BB39, BB58 Blue or the Ranger. All great choices!
Love the GADA style of watch. As my tastes have changed, ive been sent into wanting only one or two watches in my collection. I currently have 5, but only wear my Aqua Terra 38 and my Longines Spirit 40 with the blue dial. I resonate with classic watches and think the 1-2 watch collection is achievable! They are meant to last a lifetime, so why rotate them only to be worn once a week/month. No hate on anyone who does though.

"a watch for all ceviches"
This video inspired me to move away from my one watch collection.

Say it ain't so ๐
I tried the BB39 a couple of hours ago.

It's because the Longines spirit 37 came out and made all other GADA watches look bad.

My GADA is my Omega Railmaster. Simple, reliable, and a style chameleon with quick change straps.
Yes.
My tax bracket!?! They're all GADA watchs๐
Actually since it came out, the BB54 was directly put on the top of "to buy" list.
I don't have high-end watches but i'm saving up to buy one, and when I do save up, the BB54 will be my first purchase.
(PS : I have tiny wrists that's why I think the BB54 will suit me better then the BB58)
Got to ask, apologies if itโs obvious - GADA? Meansโฆ..

Go Anywhere, Do Anything. aka a watch that is boring enough to be worn unnoticed at a funeral or on a trip to the local convenience shop.
You did write an essay. It's a WatchCrunch dissertation ๐
Thx Max! It's a great honour ๐ฏ!

That being said the bbpro everyone complained about looked tiny and fit amazing on strap. Likely going that route on bracelet for my next piece
Mud wrestling, and Tuesdays? Haha laughed at that joke โฆ (itโs a joke right?)
I agree with you on why GADA isnโt necessarily for watch enthusiasts. Itโs for wear and forget people.

The light dial gives it 1-2 visual millimeters more than a dark dialed version too ๐
36mm is perfect for me even though it is a bit too small for me on paper.

Donโt want/need a GADA since part of the fun of the hobby is having a watch for all osassions.
