What’s your next 3 watches?

Just curious what are peoples next 3 watches? Some can’t even think of what their next watch will be, that’s why I’m increasing the range to 3 that you’ll strongly consider getting.

#1 Baumé et Mercier Clifton

Image

This is a funny story because I was supposed to buy this watch in January, but due to circumstances I ended up purchasing a car and lost my 2 watch funds. Right now I’m in discussion of possibly getting a position change in my company, and may be moved from sales to marketing. If I do get the promotion, I will strongly consider purchasing the watch. It’s a beautiful dress watch and something I’ve had my eye on for the past year. I think this Baumé is something I wouldn’t mind keeping with me till a long time into my collection, and I only see one watch potentially replacing it and that will take 30 years to afford it.

#2 Seiko 62Mas SPB143J1

Image

Probably one of my first loves. I still remember seeing this watch in the boutique when I bought my Alpinist 2 years ago and falling in love with it. 2 years later, I am still in love with it. If I don’t get the promotion I may pick up this watch first instead of the Baumé, but if I do get that promotion this may be a later purchase. Love the utilitarian look of the watch, something that can blend in with my everyday outfit. Not flashy, but still classy enough for most occasions.

#3 Longines Spirit 37mm

Image

If there was one watch I want sure about, it would be the Longines Spirit 37mm. I love everything to do with the watch and I find it handsome and classy at the same time, I have two problems with the watch, and these are the issue which is stopping me from putting it at the top contender, the price, and if I should just save up for my next dream watch. At $4100 Australian dollars, the watch isn’t cheap, and even if my company can discount the watch for me, that’s still $3700 for this model because Australia doesn’t love 37mm watches. Let’s say I get it second hand, that’s still close to $3000. I don’t know if I’m willing to pay so much for a Longines. I love the watch and I think it deserve to be one of the kings of the entry luxury Swiss watch brands, but another $1500 and that’s second hand grand seiko and Tudor money. I’m torn on this one, but this would definitely be there as my third an unsure contender for my third mid-range watch.

I think after these 3, I would be done collecting for a while. Start saving up for a house, get my finances sorted out, and then once I’m comfortable, I’ll start looking for my 2 grail pieces. I know one of them will be a Cartier Santos, unsure about the second one. Well about you lads? What’s the next 3 in your bucket list?

Tudor monochrome or ranger is on my very short list otherwise I really have nothing else... except maybe another Hamilton

·

Cartier Tank. But most likely nothing for quite some time. I was thinking through this and the finances and dont see how I can be responsible about this. Kid goes to college in 3 yrs, we want to retire in 8-10 (aggresive savings schedule), have Masaimara as the bucket list item to be checked off for nxt yr... you get the picture. Worse, given the global macro seems to be going to shit, I doubt a bumper bonus will be coming my way for the next couple of yrs. And I am quite happy with my budget/micro collection for now, so dont feel like buying more into that category. Net net...likely nothing for now :(

Fair enough. I was never in love with the Ranger, I guess maybe because I always wanted the Rolex Explorer. Maybe this is why I was really drawn to the spirit because it was distinctively not trying to be a Rolex homage. Just me

Looking for a nice example of the IWC MK XVIII in blue. Apart from that it will be a chronograph. Either a speedy or a Breitling.

Microbrands are pretty neat too. Idk if orient is a microbrand but I love their watches, sold most of mine though to fund my next purchase.

Ohhh, good stuff. I would love to own a Speedy Snoopy, too broke to think about it. Funnily enough despite my hatred for Tag as a brand, I love their glass box chronographs. Maybe it’s a love-hate relationship.

My next three watch are as followed:

!-Omega Seamaster 300M Pro black dial and bracelet. This one is on they way already. I found as pre-owned 2023 Seamaster with box and papers from a trusted site for a great deal that I couldn't pass up. This one has been on my radar for a long time.

2-Nomos Club Neomatic Sport 39mm with the brown dial. I think this would be a perfect GADA watch. I have been wanting a Nomos for years and I will be pulling the trigger soon on this one.

3-This one, I am still thinking about because there 2 two different pieces I am looking at. I know eventually I will get both but don't know which will be first. Let me know what the Crunchers think: 3A-Muhle Glaschutte 29er Big with the sand dial and blue fabric hybrid strap

or 3B- Handhart Pioneer Chrono TachyTele white dial.

I’ve been seeing a lot of ads of these Kuoe watches. If you ever get one let me know.

·

Ideally it would be a Rolex GMT for me. A Tank for the Mrs and then maybe something like a Zenith chrono..

·

I’ve slowed down my purchasing to about 1 watch per year now. I am really determined for my next two to be a ETA powered Pelagos (or possibly a Pelagos 39, I keep going back and forth) and a Doxa Sub 300 Carbon. That’ll get me through 2026 so not sure about a third haha

·

My next 3 are a custom built grail homage, an as yet to be determined chronograph, and a Baltic Aquascaphe. It'll probably take me 3 years to complete this tier of my collection though 🤣

·

Ok… here’s my wish list…

Moby Dick

14 yr old IWc

Skip Ass as my fellow cruncher friends had named it…

It would evaporate my self imposed watch budget for the next few years but I am interested in checking out the classic moonphase launched by Laurent Ferrier. My introduction to collecting timepieces decades ago involved the mostly useless but totalling charming moonphase function on vintage watches that I collected. Congrats on your promising career path, best of luck!

·

Ok this will be fun. I have an unexplainable urge to go for a Breitling Endurance Pro.

2. Cartier Santos Medium

3. Omega AT Small seconds

·
Luckyyy

Oh that’s interesting. Kinda Rolex Explorer vibes with the font choice they used.

Is that a red 9?

·
  1. Citizen NB1060-12L

  2. Venezianico Nereide Tungsteno 39

  3. Traska Summiteer 36

That'll make a varied core collection of Miyota 9000 series watches together with the Wise Adamascus AD773 I already own.

For me, it's a combination of grabbing some that I've wanted for a while, and getting some purely practical pieces.

#1 is an older Omega Planet Ocean 42mm. I'd like one of the mid 2000s ones, pre-master Co-Axial movement. The 42mm case size is totally fine for me, but I prefer the thinner movements of the pre-2010s Omegas.

#2 is likely going to be one of the 37mm Citizen Promaster Solar-Quartz divers. Want a solar dive watch, and that smaller size will make it extremely wearable in all occasions, and it's something that my significant other could wear too.

#3 will be a new, vintage dress watch. I've been using a Glycine Vacuum as my dress piece, but either a Hamilton CLD Lyndon, or an older Omega will be replacing that.

Love the idea for the post!

Formex Essence 39 is one of the strongest contenders of watches I want to buy but I’m too scared to. I know I’ll love it when I wear it, but I haven’t bring myself the courage to part ways with my PRX, and the fear I may not be able to resell it. If those concerns doesn’t bothered you, buy it. The other watch running for the same category as that is the Baumé et Mercier Riveria 39mm. Price point is almost doubled but it’s a beautiful integrated bracelet watch, though for me it’ll be much cheaper because I work sell Baumé and I can get staff discount 😊

Need (ok, want) to get me a diver before beach season; juggling a few different TAG Aquaracer models

Solid picks I woukd say, I like the longines spirit in champagne colour.

3. Citizen A060 series

Only can comment on the Longines because my company carry that watch in my store. It’s a solid watch, wish it had a display case back but very wearable size. Love it, though I like the fake lume in the 42mm
