Hmmmm…Which one would you choose and why?

I’m leaning towards the Longines cuz I think it’s slimmer but that dial “Shippo!” In the Seiko?!! Prize wise the longines is $2400 and the Seiko is $3400… hmmm… Hmmm…

Wow, those are two very sexy watch faces. I am giving the edge to the Longines based on the images. I have seen Presage dials in person and they are stunning so the picture may not be a good representation. I find the date window as an obstruction and although the font is the same, the Longines interpretation of the number four is sexier.

It's a hard choice for me but I'm going to have to say Seiko.

1 the dial

2 the date complication

·

Woof. Tough decision! I have a similar decision on my hands right now. I’m trying to decide on the Longines Conquest, or the Seiko Alpinist!

Due to my own indecisiveness, I couldn’t vote. I can’t help you here either. I kind of suck.

Also kinda “complete” my enamel/porcelain collection

Such tough lives we have right!!?? 😁

No date and Brequet numerals?! Yes please!

Yes, longines have a cleaner look 🤔

·

They’re pretty nice on both counts here. I like the dial coloring on the Seiko for sure but the date is a drawback. Add a substantial price difference and I think I’d go with the Longines. Couldn’t fault you for picking either though.

·

Two good pan dials, but going with Swiss because it has no date.

No. Stop this.

You were having a rest and now you’re sniffing around an Omega and a Longines like you haven’t seen a Swiss watch in the wild.

Put the Seiko down as well, you don’t need that either.

·

Totally good on either one

But -

I’m a date guy and always slightly regret every time I get a watch without one. It’s the life I lead and when I retire that may change.

The dial on the Seiko will melt your brain when you look closely at it and it’ll be more striking looking from a distance as well.

But that price difference is big, so if no date and a simple colorway works for ya, then it’s Longines.

You don’t wear watches on your foot, you can’t blame this nonsense on an appendage that lives in a shoe.

·

I’m full of them - leather straps will work best, or maybe NATOs (you’ll be thankful of the double-strap). Swiss in the front, reliable Seiko to the rear. Remember to jiggle, keep them wound.

NEXT WEEK ON WEAR IT WITH PORTHOLE - Casio G-Shock, and can you really use it as a hammer when you forget your toolbox. Same time, same place.

Muahahahaha!!!

·

Unusually fore I go with the Swiss watch in this case as I prefer the white dial.

·

Blue hands

·

The white dial of the Longines SCREAMS class and elegance, and is also easy to read. (I said the same thing about the Tissot Classic Dream in my review.) And I haven't changed my mind; white dials are tops in my book.

Plus, the Longines is less expensive. I don't really care so much about the date complication; I can take it or leave it.

Follow your gut. Buy the Longines.

·

No date and $1k cheaper? Sold...

·

How about this and save yourself a tonne of cash, shop around and you will be able to pick this up for £1200 ish. Limited production as well.

I tried this watch with my AD is great looking but the strap is not for me! Trust me I posted this watch a while back esp. the old Laurel style and enamel dial, and I turned it down…

Strap change?

·

I vote for Longines. The position of the date on the Seiko looks rather ugly to me.

Strap change?

It has a weird lugs and small width hard to find replacements … I know it’s a shame.

Ahh, that is a shame. Sisley error to make in the design. Why on earth er they don’t start with the premise 20mm lugs is a good place to be I have no idea.

·

I think the Longines will last longer in the end and looks classier. The Seiko to me looks like it’s trying too hard.

·

the Longines is a little like plain white bread to me. But then this isn't my favorite Seiko along these lines. tough choice!
