How Do You Organize Your Watchbox?

B. But I like to alternate in box. Black, salmon, blue, white, black and so on

·

High-end box, a couple micro brand boxes, and brand name box (Seiko, Hamilton, Zodiac, etc). Then by brand and function in each box.

I rearrange mine all the time. Sometimes it’s by brand, sometimes color, sometimes by band/strap/bracelet type. Right now I have them grouped by watch type.

·

By shape (rectangle v. round), and roughly by age.

I missed those! Good shout 👍

Organize?

·

By Brand or Class, and then by date manufactured.

·

In sets of 4: Dressy, diver, traveler, chronograph. At least in the main box. The rest are just random.

·

By brand and class kind of what @SurferJohn said.

Cheers!

Now that I have 4 watches I should probably get a watch box. Suggestions for something affordable? And possibly girly (but not pink)?

·

In descending order of belovedness.

·

I say by age. That also means by function. My newer watches are more sporty. The older are mostly dressier pieces. No strict order and they meet somewhere in the middle box.

·

I go by function. Dive, tool, dress with quartz on the bottom and automatic on top.

·

What is this “organization” of which you speak?

·

I do it by brand, which isn't one of the options. I suppose that is close to value, but not exactly the same.

Where there's a space. Must do something about this situation though as you can see a couple have sneeked in a separate compartment with my knives and watch tool's. Oh and there are the three in the proper watch box I was given as a present many moons ago too.🤦

The watch collector struggle is real 😜

Sabine, check out Etsy. They have a lot of watch box makers on there and many will customize it for you, including the fabric for the pillows. You may have to ignore dumb language like "Perfect gift for him" etc, but there are deals to be had like this one that are both inexpensive and great for a small collection.

Answer: E.

Mine are stored by 'their' age. My oldest Omega was built in the '40's. My youngest is a little over a year old. I've bought other watches more recently. The last one purchased is a 1957 model.

In descending order of belovedness.

Put my favorites and most used in the middle, then in descending order of belovedness towards the edges (or nothingness since 10 spot case not full yet!)

Ooh, awesome. I hadn't thought of Etsy, but it makes perfect sense.

I also want to get into woodworking, but taking an honest look at my life (and recent ADHD diagnosis), that won't happen despite the best of intentions.

Thanks so much.

Might have been accidental, but it’s actually kind of a cool idea. Buy one of those 4 watch boxes that has a jewelery/cuff link drawer, and make it a dedicated EDC box for tool watches and a pocket knife collection. 🤔😎

·

You guys organise your box? :p

·

I only have 4 watches currently, and I have one of those 4-post display cases (Holme & Hadfield) that you see on Amazon. I have mine organized, left to right, by date recieved.

2005, 2014, 2021, 2023

(Ecko Oz, Stuhrling Raceway, Tissot Classic Dream, Casio Duro.)

When I manage to acquire more, I will organize the additional watches in a new box, perhaps according to function? (Dress watch, Chronograph / GMT, Diver, Pilot, and Beater?)

·

pre and post 1980

·

I place my watch on a desk and call it a day.

I have wanted to build my own for a while now, but I know I cannot commit the time.

·

For me it's by value, but sentimental rather than monetary

·

I actually sort them by time that I bought them.
