Lugs too big

My friend and I keep debating whether the lugs are too big on the 114060. I say no he says yes.

It's your wrist. So your right and he's wrong.

Afraid so, but I’m biased. I never liked the “super case” or whatever it’s called. If you’re going to make a watch bigger, might as well make the dial bigger. They didn’t do that. The 41s seemed to have solved this, and of course the pre-super case models

·

I'm not a fan of the maxi-case. It's part of why I have Tudor not Rolex. I get it's supposed to make the watch look bigger, but in my opinion it throws the proportions off

·

Looks great to me

·

Seems like a 50/50 split

·

It’s perfect

·

I’ve always loved the way the outer links sit low and the center link matches the height of the lugs. In this regard the thick lugs work well. Plus it just looks stout and resplendent.

·

I think it looks perfect!

·

I don't like the wide lugs at all. If I ever got a Sub it would be an older one.

·

Now that you mention it, yes.

·

The maxi case that Rolex made is terrible. The lugs are way too big and chunky, don't blend with the bracelet at all.

·

You're both right, but he's righterer because I agree with him.

·

Looks very nice to me

·

Having both I personally feel the maxi case “sits” better on the wrist. It’s not only about the lugs. Coupled with the ceramic bezel, it looks refined. The 5 digit is a straight up tool.

The case is an optical illusion, certainly wears and looks better on the wrist.

·

Well, not until you pointed it out. Now I can’t unsee them! 😲

·

Yes, too big. The new Rolex cases are very ugly, IMO.

·

Compared to the 124060, I would say yes😁

·

I don't really notice things like that. My 114060 is awesome. It wears perfect and looks great.

·

I have a 21 mm wrist. We are right but for smaller wrist maybe is other story

·

Yea they are. Sorry. But this reference will fair far worse on residuals in years to come…

·

Sorry, too big

·

Absolutely not. It is supposed to be a stout, good looking man’s watch with presence and capability. I think some of the older submariners look almost feminine with their dainty little lugs.

·

I like the older subs. The maxi case, in my opinion, has lugs that are too large. It works on a large wrist, but in my 6.5 it has to be an older reference

·

Is mona Lisa's smile to big? Is J Los rear end too ample,? No the just as the lord meant them to be. Rolex Submariner lugs are the right size as it should be.

·

To me the case looks as if they haven't finished machining it. If it at least had some sort of curve or bevel... but it is very straight and simple which makes it look "raw".

·

Beauty of the thick lugs is the Rolex Service Center has a lot of material there to brush and polish away if you need it. 😉

·

Kinda big for me! If you want a Rolex with slimmer lugs try the Yachtmaster!

·

Maybe, but knowing how Rolex goes, years from now it might be worth more than other models due to the short production run. Funny but true.

·

Yup. Way too big for me. Looks like it skipped leg day and was hitting the roids too
