With whom do you share your watch-passion?

I wonder with whom do you share your watch-passion. Who is it that finds it totally acceptable to step into a dark toilet together to compare loom. Who is it that finds a collection of 30 watches a good starting point. Who is it that agrees with you that a sexy caseback is just as important as a sexy dial. Show me in the comments who your watch-partner is. Is it you grandmother, your spouse, your father or cousin Harry.

My imaginary friends all like watches.

·

My son in law has the same unhealthy interest in watches as me 😂

We often communicate about types, styles and brands etc. needless to say our Xmas and birthday presents are easily accurately acquired 👍🏻😂

·

No one unfortunately I bought two watches for my wife trying to maker her have the same passion , but it's ended up never wearing them 🥹

·

There is actually a co-worker on my team who is also into watches. Both his Tudor P01 and his Meistersinger (unsure about model) are actually rather nice.

·

I have a friend/former coworker that is as crazy as I am. 3-4 times per year we go to lunch with our watch rolls and share new stuff and bring out old ones that the other hasn’t seen. Our collections are very different so I get to try on his sea dwellers and vintage IWC and he gets to sort through my GS and Oris. My husband also enjoys watches but he would prefer to not watch every video available on YouTube 🤪😂

·

No one! I’m the only weird one amongst my group of friends who finds all of the above totally acceptable! 😂

·

I don't have any

·

Just this app! 😄

·

If the people around me knew the actual cost of my watches id never hear the end of it

·

... You guys. Frankly, I'm a little hurt you had to ask.

·

Nobody.

I want to keep my friends.

People who talk about watches all the time to people who don't care are cringe worthy.

That's why there are places like this-to keep us in check.

·

No one really. Although my 13 year old son is starting to take an interest in watches.

·

My father had a passion for watches that we shared. Since he past I've tried to get my children into watches but they just keep losing them! Hence I'm here 😋

·

When I bought my house 24 years ago, my next door neighbours had a 1 year old kid. When that kid was finishing high school, I found out that he was into watches. I would lend him watches and he would swap them out for other models every now and then. I ended up giving him my Hamilton Viewmatic and bought him a Tissot for his graduation.

Now he’s done university, moved out and settled into a professional career. He’s built a nice collection.

We still text when there’s news or new additions and he visits when he’s over to see his parents next door. Last week, he texted me from the AD with his new Cartier and stopped by to play watches with his new addition.

Once I got started assembling Seiko Mods, I put one together for my wife, and then she liked it so much I made a Yacht-Master for her Xmas gift. She loves wearing them.

Good long time friend, can talk about anything watch related for hours at a time.

·

Not 1 member of my family are into watches, especially the wife. I show her a new purchase and she's more scathing than The Mad Watch Collecters missus. I talk watches with my mechanic, almost daily, because he's as nuts about them as me

Showed up my boss with a nicer watch, same manufacturer, dont know what I was thinking. Lets just say, I now just wear inexpensive watches more befitting my pay grade. LOL

Fudge that! Wear what you like!

·

You guys, I guess

·

It’s me and myself.. wife doesn’t know how many I have.. she thinks I have lost it.. and keeps saying she is going to leave if I buy one more.. that was at Watch number 8.. I am at watch number 18… I might have to check on her.. haven’t seen her around lately…

I’ve got three friends at my church that like to geek out about watches. We occasionally go out to local ADs and pawn shops. We’ve gone to a couple meetups. We typically see each other at least once a week, and we’re all collecting in the sub-1K$ end of the pool. One of those guys is basically the reason I started collecting.

My wife likes how many of my watches look and is very complimentary, but has little interest otherwise.

I have two brothers that live nearby, and they will occasionally ask me questions about my watches, but mostly just to give me a hard time and tell me to go back to an Apple Watch.

My friend.

My wife also has a really nice collection!

In real life, I used to work with a guy who was as nutty about watches as I am. I could talk to him like I talk on this forum... AND HE UNDERSTOOD ME. It was incredible. He changed jobs, however, and now there's no one. I have some friends who "think" they're into watches because they bought a Tag Heuer 20 years ago, but you mention nato straps to them and they don't comprehend what you're saying. So... yeah.

To be fair though, this applies to other hobbies as well, like sneakers and jewelry, and cars and bikes and motorcycles and...you get the idea.

Everything in moderation, as they say.

Hilarious mate! Let us know when you find her! 😉

·

I share it with you lugnuts. Nobody else cares.

·

Just the three of us

Me, Myself and I

·

I gave the bug to my brother, hoping my little girl will catch it too (already passed a watch down to her)!

The road to Switzerland is a lonely one...for many of us at least. 😢
