High quality leather straps?

Hi guys! I’m hoping to get some high quality leather strap recommendations. I would like to get some that have a nice taper to them. I figured this would be better than getting a new watch, and I’m hoping to get a second honeymoon with this watch and my lorier falcon white dial. Thanks!

Nice watch.

I don’t own any myself, but I hear good things about these:

good luck.

Etsy is your friend in this regard. So many great hand made strap options and often times you can ask them to customize one for you. Sherp Leather, Mansarea, Tyme Leather, Manufactura, Gregorio, and many others there have all made me amazing straps. Search for a style you like and don’t be afraid to ask them to customize something.

I get leather from Holben's Fine Watchbands online, based in WA. I'm not affiliated or paid, I just have liked everything from there. My favorites are Fluco, Hirsch and Colareb, they all have at least some taper, check the site for details and pictures, depends how dramatic a taper you want.

I have had great experiences with Delugs and many of their straps have nice tapers. And as RememberQuartz mentioned, Holbens has been excellent.

There are plenty of good options out there. Good luck and have fun looking.

If you search the site, you’ll find that this question has been asked and answered many times before.

My recommendations would be Veblenist, Delugs, 7 Friends, and monstraps. I‘m not a fan of Hirsch or Colareb, as they seem to use lower quality leather.

I had a terrible experience with Delugs, review here:

The strap is getting uglier with time, log-term review coming.

Molequin and Bulang & Sons are my go to for top grain leather, suede, and Saffiano.

Horween Chromexcel is your friend! It's a very good leather that's also budget friendly, and lots of different brands use it for their straps. I agree on the Etsy recommendation as well. And personally, I've had bad experience with any leather strap that cost me under $60, the quality was just not up to par.

·

I had good luck with Velle Alexander. But stay away from Hodinkee leather straps. I unfortunately have 2. They're overpriced, thin, and the quality is pretty low for the price/brand.

·

Based on my experience:
Rios, Hirsch and Jean Rousseau, all tend to be very good.
BOB, Meyhofer and BECO might be just as good in the same price range, but the cheaper stuff and what they quickly throw a discount sticker on, is not.
Chinese stuff I don't trust at all; "Why is my wrist green?".
Man Cave Leather is/was good  (hope they're doing fine).

My best experiences so far I had with Hirsch and WatchBandit (aside from the original straps from e.g. Breitling, IWC and Omega)

I've made some straps for some great users on WatchCrunch! If you like you can take a look :P

ill Be doing that!

Delugs. StrapsCo. CheapestNatoStraps.com. You’d be surprised how similar leather straps are. Most are using leather from the same sources. Quality of stitching is very good otherwise you will not be selling straps. Best to you.

·

Depends on what look you're after, I have this one in light brown, but I think this black + retro stitching would look great on your watch, anything from fluco is great, I have several of their straps, from leather - rubber.

My experience is that you could find good and bad strap models among most brands. Many good suggestions above. I can add Watchgecko to the list.

If you’re looking for something unique, high end leathers and hand made I’d give keepiece a try. They also do custom straps and have a catalogue of vintage and second hand watches. The owner is also a nice guy; I’ve meet him as we’re both in LA.

There are some great posts on straps (here and here).  If you're interested in exotic leathers, well made at a reasonable price, check out Lone Star Treasure on Etsy.

No recommendation on straps, but can I just say that I love that Junghans? Such a nice design.

·

For that watch Junghans makes a nice mesh, this being the warmer weather its a perfect time to mesh it.  I like the shell cordovan leather (Nomos Style) on my Max Bill.

·

I honestly look up local leather specialty stores for watch straps - although most that I see are a bit more "rugged" in aesthetics & that might not be what you're looking for - but still worth a shot.

Everything y’all have said has been great! As a relatively new collector, I appreciate all of the advice!
